Feeling a bit bombarded with information from reading and wanted to post a thread. I shoot and hunt with VAP .166 Gamer 400 45-60 V3 arrows. What should I look at in the ads/descriptions for the lighted nocks that will help me buy the right ones for my arrows? Thanks for reading.
You're going to want to look for a nock that fits the ID of your arrow. I believe the Nockturnal-G fits the micro diameter shafts like the Gamer. Lumenok is also making outsert adapters that slide over the micro diameter shafts and allow them to accept a standard sized lighted nock as well.
Justin, thanks for pointing me in the right direction for my research/purchase! I do appreciate it, sir.
I shoot the same arrows. I went with the nock outs. They have a collar which allows you to use them without the light. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The 2 I have seen are luminock and nockturnal. I prefer the brand with the plunger switch to turn off... I use a field point. I believe this is nockturnal brand? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Just curious of your suggestion. I’ve had great luck with the green nock. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I used green nocks in the past as well. I used a green laser pointer to move deer so I could get out of the stand last season, based on the deer reaction to the green laser light I won't be using green anymore.
Interesting. Good idea on the laser pointer to move the deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’ve been thinking about the green nocks and green laser deal. I have a green head lamp for walking in/out in the dark for years. Every sense I’ve changed to the green head lamp, I’m able to sneak around with deer all around me. The laser is a very direct light source causing the deer to be spooked. While the lamp and nocks aren’t as intense. I think it won’t have the same effect as the laser would. John Dudley from nockon uses the green nocks and he’s anal about everything. I like Nocturnal best, I have tried them all but Firenock. I have never had a deer spook by the color of nock I used. I have killed many with a green lighted nock. I have also killed them with a red lighted nock.
If you have not already purchased your lighted I would try Nockturnal blue nocks. I been using them for 2 years, with great results. Personally I can see them in full light conditions, any color will be good in low light conditions. Just my opinion, good luck with which ever you decide.
