My Suzuki is throwing fits when it gets warmed up, it's a 2005 model 700 kingquad. I've got to take it into the shop next week. I may be looking at getting something new here one of these days, I'm not sure I want another 4-wheeler, the UTV's are darned handy and a bed and power steering is nice. Dealer has a new old stock 2016 750 KQuad for $7K but no power steering. My old one has none either so I'm not sure I care to hold out for PS but it'd be sweet to have it. Hard to beat that price though. He also has a new Arctic Cat 700 for about $7K w/power steering. I'd thought about this a while ago, I had almost convinced myself to look hard at the new Kawasaki Mules with a trans bed next time I needed to upgrade my ATV situation. I have yet to look at them closely, have to find a different dealer for those, my old dealer doesn't handle Kawasaki's. I've been told they are more like the Rangers now with top speed, ride and power steering. I hadn't seen anyone post any threads about new purchased ATV's in a while. Anyone got any info to share?
I wouldn't buy anything now days without power steering. That's about all I have to offer. We've got 4 Polaris Sportsmans and love them. Get new Gators at work every year. Very nice but expensive and stupid loud.
Yep, I'm pretty sure whatever I get is going to have power steering. I talked to a dealer about the Mule, only one model seemed like what I wanted and it was $15K. Damn, I hate to spend that much on an ATV/UTV. These prices are really getting absurd. $15K would go a lot further on cattle than an ATV, lol.
Oh the prices are terrible! We've contemplated for a couple years now because it'd be the ticket for any fencing/pasture work but there's alot more important things in today's farm economy to spend money on when the ATVs work just fine. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I would buy one but nobody would walk to the barn ever again. Plus I am a short timer I am leaving this frozen hell.
I'm a UTV guy. Right now I have a Yamaha Rhino 450. It is kind of under powered but has taken me everywhere I've wanted to go. I just want to go faster. I think my next UTV is going to be the Polaris General 1000. That should do the trick.
I'm looking at the Kawasaki Mule Pro-FXT™ EPS. They have a top speed of 46 mph similar to the Polaris Ranger 800 crews we have on the ranch. Way better than the old original Mules and most of the 25mph UTV's that have been "standard" for years. My biggest complaint with the Polaris rangers is they are loud and I don't like the way the engine runs, it always sounds and feels rough to me vs the old Kawasaki mules we have. The new mules seem to be a nice blend of all the features I like including the trans bed/second seat feature.
We got a Honda pioneer, 500cc. Its a 4 seater but the back folds down into the bed making it bigger. Not a speed machine and next one will probably be the 1000 but it works good doin chores and building fence. Better than the old 80 Chevy used to use for chores ha. We have the Honda Pioneer 1000. I would not recommend anything else. Such a great machine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Honda Pioneer 1000 here too. Absolutely love mine. Only way to go. Whatever breed you go with you NEED power steering!!!!
I own all 3 (sport quad, utility quad, UTV) and would take the UTV all day over the rest. The sport quad is only good for playing around, the utility quad is perfect for one man jobs but the UTV gives you the advantages of all 3. My next major purchase will be a Honda Pioneer.
The pioneer is quite a bit higher priced than the Mule pro just for the base machines. I'm not really liking the cab options for the mule pro fxt...or the cost of them either. I'm tempted to just stay with an ATV to keep the costs down. These prices...
You get a LOT more with the Pioneer. While the Mule may be a little more of a work machine, the Pioneer works and plays and is great at carrying deer out of the woods/fields!
Question---can utvs turn as sharp as a atv ??? I mostly use mine for food plots in woods, also for dragging deer and hauling stands in and out ???
I've got a 1000 Polaris Scrambler and love it, I like to ride hard and ride fast. Nothing like a bike that will pull and mud with the best utility bike's on the market....and at the same time, clear a 50' table top and pull and pack the front wheels running 60mph down the road.
