We open up on Monday. The weather does not look the best, but if its not raining and blowing, I will probably get out. The birds are responding well for the youth season right now, but the weather is just crap.

Update on my season so far, it's been cold, the birds are cold too. Supposed to warm up this week, might take Wednesday or Thursday off and get after them.

I've been covered up in birds just not coming together. Still have until mid May to get it done.

Hey guys, sorry! Life is crazy haven’t had much time for getting on here!
If I haven’t been replaced yet, I’m here!

I’m Kyle, hunting Vermont. Possibly New York. Season doesn’t start here until May 1st and it’s still snowing! Going to get some cameras out this weekend and do a little scouting if everything goes as planned!

We open up on Monday and the forecast is looking a little better than it did a few days ago. It will still be a very cold morning, but no rain. I ordered a Primos Surroundview 360 that is scheduled for delivery today. Looking forward to trying it out for sure. There seem to be plenty of birds.

We are 100%, let's get to it!
Went out this morning, sounded like I had two coming until 3 shotgun blasts ended that. I hate when they get intercepted by someone on another property. Other than that, watched a hen look like she was starting to nest, so I have that going for me.

Points on the board boys! He's a jake and only scored 32 points but he'll taste just as good and put some points on the board for us. Not much of a story except I only had to wait about 25 minutes this morning for him and 2 more to show up. I was out and home before I knew it. In fact my wife didn't even realize I went hunting. Dropped the kids off at school about 7:50. Was on the property about 8:10 and they showed up about 8:40. Happened a little quicker than I though but I put a Black Eagle Zombie Slayer clean through him and he only went about 4 yards. Never really used a selfie stick before but found my daughters in a drawer. Have to be creative when you hunt on school days and the wife was at work.

Dropped one Sunday morning with my shotgun in the pouring rain. Wet turkeys take terrible pictures, still pumped to get the first bird in the freezer. I'll take my bow out more often now since the "pressure" is off, plus my bow getting new strings put on. I'm not going to lie, this weather has really taken the motivation out of me, using the shotgun to get #1 was a good idea to get me excited again, although the weather still sucks.
I'll be out Tuesday afternoon and quite a bit this coming weekend, should be able to get the bow kill soon.

I'm hoping some tom's come back around now. I had pics of 3 toms just before the season started but there's been about 12 jakes running all over the place and think the groups of them ran off the toms. We've been pretty successful thinning out the jakes so hoping a long beard or two will reappear and I can replace this guy. Best of luck to everyone else! Keep at it gents!

I went out for opener this morning, I scouted some birds last night and had an idea where they were roosting. Went in after dark last night around 10pm to set the blind up and I didn't realize how close I ended up getting to the roost...This morning comes and my buddy and I find ourselves 50 yards from a tom up in the tree. We watched him strut and gobble up there for a good 1/2 hour, I let out a few soft tree yelps and he flew straight into the decoys. He got spooked after he knocked the jake decoy over then must've caught me drawing back, he started walking away and I sent one over his back at 25 yards... Should've been a routine shot but I felt rushed and punched the trigger. Almost had some more points on the board for us but oh well, still have a month and a half left to hunt!
