So, some of you were aware that I had been approached to sell one of my farms. I hesitated at first, but decided it was good timing and a good excuse to start working on my other farm to bring it up to full potential. I was first approached by a realtor that was looking for good hunting ground for a couple of clients. Then, I put the word out to friends and family that it was for sale. I was overwhelmed with responses from 8 different states. At least a dozen serious lookers and quite a few tire kickers. I had a very nice young man come look at the ground within one week of putting out the word and he presented me a full price offer the same evening. We closed last Friday. I bought this farm 13 years ago and it was home to 26 horses and mules and was pretty rough shape as far as habitat goes. I spent a lot of time working on projects there and turned it into a pretty solid whitetail property. My wife used to get a little frustrated with the amount of time and effort I put into that farm. Today, after getting over 5 times what I paid for it, she seems a little more understanding. lol. On to the next chapter and looking forward to starting the process all over again on my other farm. The good news is, a well know whitetail personality bought 1300 acres right next to my other property and it looks like I may be in for some good hunting there for many years to come. Better to be lucky than good!!
Hell yeah! You should give us an "land update thread" kinda how Boonerville does on your other property (unless you've already done a lot of work).
I will just say that he has invented products that most of us have used in the archery world, and leave it at that. He is putting together thousands of acres of the best whitetail ground in the country. I want to be him when I grow up. As long as I don't really have to grow up.
Happy wife, happy life! Lucky for me, my wife is also my best friend and now she thinks I'm super cool. That should last for at least a week or so. But, it didn't keep me from scrubbing toilets this weekend.
You gotta aim higher. Much, much higher. You want to be like Germ. Chicks dig him and most guys have a man-crush on him. The dude makes piles of cash.
