I went out shed hunting two weekends ago and found a ladder stand on my lease that directly connects to my property, and the stand isn't mine. I've been having problems with my neighbors/locals since the property was purchased four years ago and have attempted to talk with them to define the property lines and to talk about their hunting goals. This past year one of them ended up driving right by me late season on their quad while I was on stand.(ASAT Works real good on humans :busted:) He ended up hunting right on the corner of our property and their lease so it was hard to distinguish where he actually was parked. I ended up watching him smoke cigarettes and drink coffee for about three hours before he rode away on his quad. I called a conservation officer when I got back to camp, at this point I was beyond the point of trying to work with these people. The officer ended up going to their camp and talking to them but I never heard anything after that. After talking with one of the locals who is not part of this hunting group, I found out that the camp had taken 19 deer last season....:jaw:..... I am starting my neighbor wall this weekend with some major hinge cutting as a start to solve some of my problems, the next problem to solve is who do I contact first about the stand?

Gotta call the property owner re the stand. However unlikely it could be there with their permission. Assuming it's not legit; get written consent for you to take the stand. Do whatever the property owner wants you to do with it. Get all this in writing either in text or email.

I have seriously thought about having swinging logs like in Return of the Jedi when the Ewok's take out the AT-ST.

I think talking to the property owner is best for now, he seems to dislike this group of hunters as well so hopefully we can work together to get them kicked out. I would hate for them not to be able to come back hunting but, this is my land lol.

P.S. their Canadian, haven't checked the laws yet but I don't think it will be to good for them to get the law involved.:usa:

This makes no sense. My parents live in Alberta. I have hunted there several times, it makes no sense for Canadians to hunt in America for deer. Canadian deer are way bigger on average. Elk I can understand, but deer? They might as well stay home. Not worth the legal trouble for tresspassing.

Look into local laws via your DEC... In NY you can't cut the tree the officer will give you options but most pull the stand and keep it at their office and put a note on the tree telling them how to get it back.
But if it were I, I would hinge cut the out of it and trump that area ( wall) line disputes get crazy

The wall has begun..Neighbor wasn't home to talk to so spent some time cutting wood, still have a lot to do but their main routes in are blocked. Hopefully in a few months my whole west border will be blocked and thickening up before deer season.

hmmm. I've said a lot of confrontational/controversial stuff on here and only been "disliked" one other time. Hard to figure out how asking how the property owner wants to handle the situation deserves a "dislike".

I've heard references to dislikes multiple times but I don't see them. Are they not present in the mobile app?
