Hi. I’m new to bow hunting and was curious about arrows that are forgiving when I shoot along with good arrowheads. This will be my first year hunting and I want to make sure I get the right stuff.
Welcome! I like Gold Tip Hunter XT’s. They are fairly tough and seem to hold up well for me. Black Eagles seem to be well liked also, but I’ve yet to try them. Every arrow manufacturer has a spine chart on their website to help you select the correct arrow spine for your draw length and poundage. There are tons of broadheads that get the job done, and I think it’s hard to go wrong. Do you have a local bow shop?
Thanks so much! I do, it’s about 30 minutes away. Should I go to them about getting outfitted for my bow? My bow is coming in in a week so I may go when I get it so they can fit it. Is there a way I can do it before my bow comes?
Are you getting your bow from that shop or did you buy online? Either way, definitely go to the shop and have them set it up for you to ensure you get the best out of it.
I ordered it online. But my friend is going to help me get set up because his step brother works at the archery shop. I’m also gonna look at other things I need, like a release trigger
Also talk to somebody at the proshop for possible shooting instruction you can learn to shoot properly and your learning curve will not be as steep.
I will for sure! I need to get arrows and other accessories so I will have them help outfit me thanks for the help!
I agree with sota and will add learning correct form will benefit you beyond all else. Biggest struggle I have faced is correcting technics that I assumed to be correct until I was shown otherwise.
I will make sure to do that. I go to an archery shop a half hour away and they help with my form every time I’m there I appreciate the tips and I will get my form down before anything else!
It is my first bow. But the first compound I shot was a halon 32 and I loved it but never could afford it but my good friend found the chill Monster for me on eBay so I bought it.
