This weekend is it for me so I am having my doubts now about putting up another 50 for us. Very depressing year except for my buck of course!
Hang in there Dawg, ya never know! But I hear ya... My season was great with my daughter getting her buck and I was very happy with my MA bow kill, however, I did have much higher expectations of this season.
Now it's 50 here... but supposed to plummet again Sunday. Raining and losing lots of snow now.. such strange weather. I wonder when the contest will be updated again. I wonder how far up and how close this thing is now.
After it for 3 more days guys. I’ll be hunting each day until the fat lady sings on Sunday when the IL season closes. Good luck to the rest of you still after it!!
Same weather here, except the cold hit us today. My cell cams are already lighting up with activity. Hopefully you guys see the same when it gets to you!
We had just over 32 with some rain/sleet into maybe 6+” of snow two days ago then -25 into this morning. Goofy weather all around. We needed some snow but think we’re ok without too many more -20 days. I’m curious on an update too. Probably could just sift through and add things up but I’ll admit I’m kinda too lazy to for now. Good luck to everyone still out. Be great to see some more deer down or worst case see some pics and see what bucks made it or are around. Any kind of action is fun. I pulled my traps the other day before the snow. Was gonna call it a failure but semi successful. Got a nice fisher, but since after their season just get to call it in and give it to the dnr. I am hoping to take a walk Sunday AM to look for some sheds after the rain. They can't be far, but I never have any luck shed hunting up there. It's strange.
I gave it a short try with my older kid before the snow here too. Was hoping to find something cause he’d go nuts for that again but no luck. It’ll have to wait til spring now. Did have a doe with twins jump up and run about 20 yards from is so he went crazy about that for the last two days. I doubt it gets entered, trust me on the part of no sandbagging involved. We have had several members trying to contact him and no one has gotten a response. We would need one antlered or two bonus deer to be competitive.
This year I think all top 3 teams were winners any other year. Wild season. The first couple weeks were crazy. So many monsters went down.
