Luckily, the shop looked it over well & it’s mostly damage to the finish. I wasn’t about to chance it. He also reduced the wt a little d/t my bad shoulder. I used the range there to sight it back in. I’m sure I will need to keep shooting it more. But for now my 20 is set.

    Thanks

Daylight movement starting to pick up in the Northern Zone. More bucks starting to showing up between 8AM -2PM. New scrapes popping up everywhere...the time is here! Good luck to everyone out there! Be safe.

I had 2 real good sits this weekend. Couldn’t pull it off but came real close twice. I have never had any luck using urines. And I normally buy the farm fresh over priced stuff. My cousin gave me a bottle of tinks 69. I sprayed it all over some trees 50 yards down wind. Needles to say I wish I sprayed it 30 yards. 2 good bucks and 3 other young bucks came right into it and were just out of range. Temps are supposed to drop a bit this coming weekend. Hope it’s a good one ..

Not as bad as MA = No Sunday hunting?! WTF? Luckily they have a nice long Bow season. As for NY, there are a few zones which are bow-only, which is where I flock to when the orange army's out.

I live on the putnam / westchester border. Once the shotgun season opens I spend all my time in westchester which is bow only. Hard to find land to hunt but I have a few very small private owned and I hunt a pretty good chunk of DEP public land. Not only am I scared to walk too and from my stands during the gun season but wasting my valuable time dealing with trespassers got old years ago. Love the bow only county.
Going to be a cold one this weekend and my camera activity has picked up substantially in the last 2 days. Should be a great weekend !! Good luck everyone

Westchester used to be amazing hunting at one time.

Ok guys... Thoughts on rut... My activity dropped off completely for mature bucks two days ago but I hate to think it's lock down already. I'm seeing does a plenty and small bucks still but no chasing just a few day time encounters days ago

They are definitely not on lock down yet. Bucks are cruising right now, from what I've seen anyway. Saw a nice buck cruising a field edge while driving today at 1:30PM. Its on this weekend for sure. Bucks are less likely to be on their regular "routines", especially when their bedding and cover changes during this part of November. There could also be external influences like bean or corn fields being cut (depending on where you are hunting). But my bet is on this weekend being a corker in the woods! Best of luck, I'll be out there on all day sits :bhod:

Good thread. I’m in Orange County. Saw a bunch opening day but nothing since. It’s just been too hot. Even my trail cams have only been showing night activity. Hoping that turns around tomorrow as I will be in the woods most of this weekend!

What counties are bow only? I see one person mentioned westchester, but others?

This weekend is looking very promising. I’m off Saturday but working half day on Sunday.

Anyone having luck with evening sits? I’m not seeing anything. I’ve never done an all day sit. Other than bringing some food & water, how do you manage for that long. I’m not sure my back & ass could make it.

I'm heading out for an all day sit now. I don't if I'm mentally prepared for the cold to be honest. It's going to drop quick and be windy. I'll report back about what I see. I'm in Suffolk

Yesterday morning was BRUTAL! Cold, cold, cold.......and no deer seen. Evening started out with better temp but that dropped quickly. I still saw nothing.

Is it just my area or anyone else feel like they were moving and now seem to have stopped?
