I know this doesn't have much to do with scoring, but I've chatted with several different teams. Seems like a real good group of folks playing the contest this year!!! Good Luck to everyone this season!! Be SAFE!!

Got a question about the contest and also would be a good general deer management question. The buck to doe ratio is bad on my place. I have WAY more bucks than does and was wondering if I shoot a spike would it be bad for management and would it count as a doe for my team since I use a doe tag to check it in? It'd be a buck. 7. If a buck's rack scores less than 50 points, a minimum score of 50 will be applied. This is known as the "Fergie Clause". This does NOT apply to button bucks. The buck must be a legally "antlered" deer in your state and have a scorable rack.
The buck must be a legally "antlered" deer in your state and have a scorable rack. If it isnt legally counted as a buck in your state and you can use a anterless/doe tag for it than it is counted as a doe my opinion... in MO i can shoot a spike but as long as the spikes are shorter than 3 inches i can count it and tag it as anterless/doe.. Thats what i read the rules.. Sent from my SM-G955U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
So spikes arnt counted as antlered deer in your state right?? Thats why you can use doe tag for it??? Sent from my SM-G955U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I am confused the rules read to me it would count as a doe because it doesn't have a legal rack, but you say it would be a buck? Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I just want to know for sure I don't want to waist my buck points for my team. I have some nice ones that I am hoping to cash in for my team. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
