As many of you know purchased a chunk of ground last March and had a few shooters (shot one) and this guy named Gary last year obviously damaged or got an infection which triggered crazy growth this season....hence Gary growing into the name Bertier (think Remember the Titans).

He has been a homebody and has been utilizing the bedding area just enhanced with a chainsaw this spring before green up.

    Enjoy some video of him:

That guy took a beating with the ugly stick. He needs arrow therapy.

That is a cool looking buck. That right side ain't no joke, it's a shame the left side doesn't match. He'd still catch one of my arrows!!

No kidding about the right side man...I doubt I can wait to see what future may hold. He will have an arrow coming his way if shot presented for sure.

Neat looking buck! Definitely one of the awesome things about hunting is that not two bucks are exactly the same! :tu:

I had noticed you have not been posted much lately Ty, was a little concerned. Now I see why you have been busy coming up with new buck names.

BAHAHA, honestly been crazy busy with work. Also I've grown a tick tired of "dealing with" some convos which seem to recycle through every single year. I sense I'm slowly becoming one of those forum vets that lurks more and more lol

Well fellas little update. Few weeks back I did some intense digging through last years' photos and this year to throw every known movement of Bertier on to my spreadsheets I make for bucks chasing (tracks wind and travel direction, time, legal time or not, location on property, suspected reason for movement (food, doe, going to bed...), moon time and some other jazz....

Well...I uncovered some videos from a cam last year I obviously blew through thinking he never moved (I tend to fly through videos unless something catches eye). Well I found a couple, one had to have been a few days or even hours from his injury I suspected was a car and now am over 90% sure...as his back right leg in the video he is limping on pretty bad, also as stated before his entire right antler down to pedicle was ripped off (video shows some bleeding from this). No doubt he was a car impact survivor. Well then this Spring rolled around and he seemed fine (just a little hint of a hitch in his giddy up) as you guys saw above...

Well now sometime in October we got pictures of him holding it up again...and just yesterday I was by a cam so pulled card and on the 17th of this year he actually walks by the thing nose to the butt of a doe and his right rear leg is clearly not being used...muscle definition is 50% or more gone. I suspect at some point he re-injured too much by running or jumping or even fighting and it no longer is functional as it was this spring/summer/early fall.

If I can get them to load I'll share the recent video of him....but hopefully on Wednesday when East winds slide in I can catch up with him and send an arrow through him at his favorite small plot (clover/chicory) next to one of his main bedding areas.

Uploaded the quick vid to youtube for ease of sharing:

Amazing how tough these animals are. Such a strong will, not just to survive but to flourish. Good luck
