Hard Nock Life here as well....

Junior sorry to hear about the bear, it happens though. Happened to me 4 years ago and never got to recover it either, it was a horrible feeling! Especially when I was following a blood trail a blind man could follow for over 600 yards until it just stopped! I'm headed up north to a buddies property in Lancaster, NH for opening day of bear season there. I will be in the car on Aug 30th driving up, the 31'st we'll just be shooting and prepping all the bait for the bait sites. Bad thing is we can't start the bait until opening day, so we will be in there at first light on the 1st to fill the bait sites then head back in the afternoon for an evening sit. I am not going to be too picky on this hunt since I only will have limited time to hunt up there, but I am certainly looking forward to it!

The unimaginable thing happened also to me and I blew my bow up last week! I'm disgusted! Never have dry fired a bow in 15 years, until last weekend. Adjust my peep while shooting in my yard and drew it back quick to see if it was better and my hand was sweaty from being so hot and I shoot a hand held thumb release...well it slipped in my hand from the sweat and my natural reaction was to grab it and it went off and released the string. Still hard to even type. I dropped it off at the shop to have it fixed but it will def not be ready for the bear hunt. I'll be using my old helim if I can get it set up and dialed in in time or my buddy is going to let me use one of his brand new Prime bows that he has dialed in perfect. Just so bummed out still I can't believe I did such a stupid thing!

Great buck also, he's a stud!!! My buck last year had a similar tine/beam growing out of his main beam also. Your buck has a good 25" on mine, but reminds me of mine with that cool tine! I hunt public land and this guy was an old brute and really got my heart pumping! Taxidermist aged him at 6 1/2, basically had no teeth left! He was dogging a doe hard and I somehow grunted him in and snort wheezed him to 18 yards, mouth open breathing heavy and drooling....it was awesome!

Here's the similar beam like yours has...

Anyone on the team ever made a mock scrape by bringing in a small tree or adding tree branches to a post in the middle of a food plot?

Gave it a try last night. Couldn't find a cedar to use for this year but we'll see how it goes. Camera set on video mode over it.[IMG]

I did last year and had pretty good success... during our rut it brought in 3 bucks for 2 weeks that I had never had pics of before along with our normal bucks that lived on the property the whole time... You can see i added a branch to an existing tree and made a mock scrape under it [IMG]

my vote is for Hard Nock Life as well!

Sorry about the bear recovery also! I had a bad year last year with deer recoveries but this year I have my Blue Lacy Trained up and she is just itching to go track a real deer finally! I have had one before in the past and we found 54 Deer in a matter of 3 years for people all across our state, Mississippi as well as Illinois! I'll try to get pics of my pups up soon!

Nice shot on the coyote with the recurve. That's not easy.
