When you don't have any trees to hang a camera and don't want to spend $40 you just improvise. Have seen things similar but just drilled a 3/8 in. hole in a t post and 2 1/4 eye bolts with some nuts and washers and a 3/4 in bolt with washers and a wing nut to hold it all together. Nice. BTW if you need more of them another idea is to just cut an 8' treated 4x4 post in half and then drill a couple holes in one end a few inches deep and then drive a short 12" or so stick of rebar in each hole. Then you can just (unless ground is super hard) just jab the thing in the ground and strap your camera to it. I also put a screw or nail in one side at camera height so your strap can't slip down the post. Probably no cheaper or easier than what you did but it doesn't require the post to be driven in the ground so it might be more mobile.
Also a solid idea but we have quite a few fence posts laying around and no treated 4x4. Where I plan on setting ones like these aren't going to be very far off a trail. So it won't be that far off a walk with a post pounder and a tpost. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Got a few cameras hung up like this works good for me Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I like the rubber washer in between the eye bolts. Seems like it would make them hold together even better! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have done the same but just used zip ties through where the strap normally goes. Pretty cheap setup
