Rest in peace brothers. Out there trying to protect innocent persons from those hateful racist aholes in Charlottesville, VA today and they go down in a helicopter. I wish a civil disturbance line had been drawn and those racist nut jobs would have gotten smacked from head to toe with billy clubs.

Thoughts are with the families of the two in the helicopter. Some police presence certainly could have prevented the 2 mobs from the ruckus that occurred. The Billy clubs could have been used on both groups. The individuals responsible for not having a police presence should have some explaining to do.

Just curious guys. Why Virginia trying to deny its history? Not like General Lee was a mass murderer or war criminal. Appears to be yet another case of pandering to special interest groups.

And what special interests might those be? This wasn't about taking a statue down. Half these college sophomore wanna be white power idiots don't know who General Lee is anyway. It's about them finally feeling embolden enough to carry their message of white power to the streets with their walmart tiki torches.

Police bring in too many cops and they are labeled militant and aggressive. Bring in too little and they are deemed weak and are held accountable for all the stupid decisions made by everyone. They can't win.

I am no moderator but lets keep this post about the fallen officers rather than the social issues surrounding the events.

Thoughts are with the two officers family's as well as the family's of the young women who was killed and the others who were run down by the lunatic white supremacists.

Taking a statue down does not deny history, it's not funny but we seem to be repeating history with these events and good men and women are getting killed.

Is there a memorial fund we can donate money too, I would like to do so in these officers name? College fund for their kids? Virginishadow do you know of any?

I recommend a national organization Concern of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S). if you wish to donate. I believe they have a chapter in every state (Google) for the link. I know the chapter here in Missouri is outstanding! Be cautious of fake donation sites that pop up with official sounding names, as a lot of them are scams and pry on people wanting to donate. If you want to donate directly to the Virginia State Police, I would suggest contacting them and asking if there is an official donation site they recommend.

To all my brothers and sisters out there, STAY SAFE and God Bless. Got your 6

    Prayers to the families.

Just another reason I never give cops grief whenever I get pulled over. These officers get told-off and lied to 40+ hours every weeks. My heart goes out to them all.

Coming from a family of Illinois State Police this hits home. These guys died over what was probably a bunch of funded hyped up drama to further divide the country and magnify tension. Sorry Soros and the like, I'm not falling for it. My heart goes out to these guys who just showed up to work to do there job and their loved ones who are left without husbands and fathers. I will be making a donation as well. Thanks VS
