This team might have a chance since it has Dubbya and his golden horse shoe. Looking at the teams 17 might be tough to beat though.

    So everyone introduce yourselves!!

I'm Joe. 40. I live in RI. I'm a full time college student pursuing an eventual master's degree in Psychology. My goal is to be a counselor/therapist at the VA hospital or somewhere to work with my fellow Veterans who suffer from PTSD.

Up until april 2016, i was a tractor trailer driver for ten years. I had a stroke and could no longer drive commercially. The VA stepped up and enrolled me in their Voc. Rehab program to get me retrained. I ended up losing my house, property, car, and had to sell everything. I had my family and that's all i needed. I am fortunate enough to have no major side effects, and i can still hunt!
I now hunt on state land in CT, where i grew up hunting. it's a real tough go. 10,000 acres of hardwoods. I'm a needle in a haystack out there, but i LOVE IT!!!!! If I see a deer I had an amazing day. Last year I saw no deer from the stand. But I was not to mobile, and had to take it easy. This year should be better!

    tell us about yourself!

My name is Johnny. I'm 53 and I live in Munford, Tennessee. I retired from the Navy in 2008 and I've worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since then.

I'm hoping for a better season than last year. I missed a lot of hunts because I was training for the St. Jude marathon that took place in early December. On top of that, nothing seemed to work out for me last year and I didn't get a single deer with my bow. First year that's ever happened to me. Anyway, I put the check-mark in the marathon box and quit running, so now I can focus my weekends on hunting when the time comes.

I'll be starting off in Kentucky where bow season opens on 02 September - just around the corner. Hopefully I get a third chance at my first-ever velvet buck. After the first few weekends of hunting there I'll start splitting up my time between there, Missouri and here in Tennessee. I usually hunt in Arkansas also, but I may pass on that this year.

My name is Shannon. I'm 43 and live in Omaha, Nebraska. I am an engineer for a construction company. I travel a couple weeks a month for my work so hunt when the wife lets me escape. Between her and the kids its not nearly enough. 5 years ago I bought some land with a couple partners out in western Nebraska and have been working on that to improve deer habitat. I have a couple other properties that friends own that I also hunt. I am the only one that bow hunts our land so its nice. We are holding out for bigger bucks so this has helped with the numbers around our place. I take 10 days off during rut to hunt so hopefully this year I can get a big buck down again.
My season starts September 1st so can't wait to get in a tree again.

I'm hoping for a better opener this year than the past two years.

The last two season openers in Kentucky yielded three misses on three different velvet bucks: Two in 2015 and one in 2016.

I've never killed a velvet buck before and I REALLY want one and I think that I just get rattled and choke.

I have got to control that this year.

Hi all my name is Jeffrey Jones I am 32 now and this will be my 4th time on a deer contest team. I've been bowhunting for about 5 years now and this year I will be hunting with my recurve I will be taking the compound on certain hunts but I'm pretty much relying only on traditional equipment this year so I'm looking forward to finally letting one go on a whitetail. I've harvest a fair amount of deer over the years and I just picked up another forty acre property on top of 2 other properties I hunt. They are private land and I feel very fortunate to be able to get out and enjoy bowhunting as much as possible during the season. My favorite spot is the Ridge and that's where I've seen the biggest bucks at its 20 acres on a oak ridge in between 2 other larger properties it's a honey whole. I had ups and downs at this spot and I've seen the rut from various angles. I will share some overhead pics of my areas later and maybe you all will too. Cameras are out and active I have one more to put back out but that's another story. Season is getting really close and I'm seeing a fair amount of whitetail in my spots look forward to seeing you all's pics etc. Hope everybody does well this year and remember to always be safe and have more fun God bless team 9 this fall!!!!!

A velvet buck would be awesome!
I had a four year opening day doe streak going that ended last year.

I'd like to start that tradition up again this year!

I've only seen a few bucks on the hoof where I hunt, but I know they are there. I also know there are monsters there. My dad has been hunting these woods since the early 80s. Me since the early 90's) He's got a few big boys there.
Just about being in the right place at the right time like he always told me. I really have to put my time in, the hot pay dirt. Here's his biggest from the 80's. It's what lit the fire in me at ten years old.

Heres a pic from last year, the tree where he shot it from.

Here's one of his stands he left in a tree back in 92, my first year hunting. Took the pic last year, my stand is 30 yards in front of it.
