Anyone on here wander in to the battlezone of Stewart Forrest? Heard rumors that it is borderline dangerous to be in there during gun season, but im pondering attempting bow season for a few weeks. Been mountain biking a bunch, but no real hunting experience in there. Any sagely advice?
I have hunted there a few years back for a weekend with some cousins that have hunted it for a while now. Put it this way, I haven't been back and do not plan on it either. Although my cousin took a buck and a black bear while hunting there and his son took a buck and their friend took a couple bucks as well. I just know that was a long time ago, I think around 7-8 years ago. Gun season there is literally what you said, a "war zone" and people are everywhere, but maybe you're right and bow season may be a little better.
This is true everyone I saw were on my way into the woods and not too far in....wish I knew at the time there was an old orchard back in there.
Well busted out the ol mountain bike and did some scouting. Some nice spots in there. Hopefully bow season will be a little less crazy than gun. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It's a cool place, I have never hunted there though. I have been there a few times camping and mountain biking. I think I did 3 races there, Singlespeed polosza! Great place to bike! No input for you on the hunting .
Been along time since I went to one. I didn't sign up in time for the first one, but I think I went to 2nd 3rd and 4th year. It was always a blast, one of my favorite races of the year! All you can drink beer and hotdogs, always had to much fun! Haha
The beer tent at the halfway mark with guys lying on the ground with beer, I couldn’t wait to get there! Hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have only hunted there once, but plan on going back. A lot of guys I know hunt there, and are successfull. I could see how gun season would be scary in there though. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
