Thought it would be nice to get a VT thread going as I don't seem to see one.

I'm sure there aren't a ton of us out there that follow #BHOD but would be nice to converse with some fellow
green mountain state hunters on here discussing topics, sharing tips and stories, and game camera photos. From turkeys, whitetails and down to black bears.

Who lives and hunts in VT?!

Best of luck to all in their pursuits.

VT bowhunter here. I watch every episode of BHOD as it comes out. Just planted a little "poor mans" food plot a week ago. Planted whitetail institutes bow stand seed blend after spreading 80lbs of lime and 40lbs of triple 10. Very excited to go check it out and see how it's doing after another week or so.

I have two nice clover plots that are in and that we have had going go a few years now that keeps the deer visiting and a winter beet plot that sadly got too wet this year and doesn't look too positive for this year, late season maybe.
My other property is a lot of Ag feilds with some hardwood timber with Appletrees throughout that they always are slamming through. That buck photo I have posted is up on the ridge above the top Ag field that splitting some bedding. Have some white oaks at the bottom. Usually catch catch them heading into them early season

The private piece of land I hunt is 48 acres, I've got 2 stand location ( one within bow range of that "kill plot) and I feel after a couple years hunting here I've figured out where they move across the property. I really haven't found any bedding on this property. Although there aren't ag field that directly boarder it there are hay/corn fields close by.

I can't wait for the weekend to check cameras again, get a lot more scouting in and get another set out. A lot of bear action the past few weeks so hope to run into one the beginning of September.

I'm assuming he is a 3.5 but definitely could be only 2.5. He is lanky and young looking to me. He has a lot of potential as a young buck still!

tried a few last year but didn't get a lot of attention, same little bucks checking every once in a while but didn't have much 'big' buck action of this particular farm last fall. Have seen great success though with them around here! You done one before?

I've haven't yet. Thinking I might try one soon. I've watched a good amount of YouTube videos and read some about it.

Yup, I've got 3 out there. I have one each of a wild game, browning and stealth cam. I've been moving them around to different spots trying to get an idea of the frequency they use different travel routes. In one spot I had it set in early June I got a pic of two bucks. I'm gonna move it back to this spot and let it run from early sept and I'll prob review it from my stand opening morning. Here's that pic from June.

Nice! I'm going for my last card pull around the end of August before letting them sit until the first day of bow season. Been seeing some bear so hoping to get more scouting done during early bear season and have some good observation sits on the farm during that time. Hoping 'Biggie Smalls' is still showing himself, and be nice if he pulled his brother or dad with him too!

Day off today. I'm gonna check a camera and do some shooting. The August issue of field and stream had a great article for bow hunters with some great drills to work on accuracy.

I play a lot of archery black jack when I can and that's helped a lot with 'aim small, miss small'. Have a hang on in the yard up the bank that allows for me to step in and out of it easy and safe and shoot at an angle and work on being in a stand too.

Black jack, how's that work? I understand the basic of the game, 21 all that. My poor mans food plot appears to be a bust. I think just not nearly enough sunlight. What team did you end up on?
