Mississippi gal here. I hunt with a 1969 Bear Super Mag 45@28". Shoot 3D tournaments with a custom longbow American Native model by Bushmen Bows (Steven Jewett, bowyer) 60" 40@28" and an Osage Orange selfbow that I built 60" 40@28". And also use my Super Mag in some tournaments. What do y'all have?
I have a bear legion 27.5" @ 70lbs that i shoot for fun and hunting Also a bear Kodiak magnum 50th anniversary that I play with sometimes
I've accumulated a number of bows over the years, I think 37 is the current total. I really should start getting rid of a few but most of them bring back memories of hunts and old friends now passed away.. Difficult decision to make. I don't do 3-D anymore, I do shoot every day and still love it as much today as I did when I first started. Hunt with what ever bow the mood strikes me... Most of my every day shooting is with a Samick Sage. chris
I shoot Locksley Lion 45/28 for 3d my 1972 bear grizzly 45/28 and my bowtech assassin is my primary hunting bow but I really want to hunt with my recurve this year. BTW I did take state this year at my local club shot a 147 which was the highest at state Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I'm still shooting my 2007 Hoyt Vectrix XL. I just put new Winners Choice strings on a couple years ago, so I'm good to go for quite a while.
Never heard of some of those bows Strictly hunting here LDK. Mostly Mike Fedora Sr.'s bows (retired after 50+ yrs.) , 560 TD recurve, Extreme TD Longbow , and his 52" Stalker and a 560 TD target for practice. Most recent is a Toelke Pika longbow.
Obsession, I see Mathews has copied the colors idea from them. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'll be toting the same bow as last year. A Black Widow PCH V, 56" and 52@28. Shooting some POC arrows with 160 grain single bevel Grizzly heads.
Also a black widow as well 55@28 and also a samick 45@28 both with gold tip traditionals tipped Magnus broadheads Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I started with a Hoyt Buffalo 45lb but I didn't like it.....metal riser was too heavy and I could not get it quiet. Great shooting bow for 3D but I was worn out after 25-30 targets. I'm sticking with all wood.
I agree the Buffalo is on the heavy side. I quieted mine down by putting felt in the limb pockets and where the string contacts limbs. Also use string silencers and limb savers. With brace height set at 8' inches it is very quiet now.
Everybody that's replying what compound bows you shoot with, you do realize this is the traditional archery section right? Not trying to be a d!ck, just saying that you might not be realizing what section of the forum you are posting in.
