do you guys paint your lone wolf stands? I got an Assault II on the way to go with my 4 sticks along with a stick quiver. I've only looked at the stands in the stores once a while back and if i remember correctly they are silver in color. Just thought i'd ask, I'm guessing a little brown paint on the bottom and sides should darken it up a bit.
The first kill from my Alpha ll came the second time I sat in it, 12' off the ground.. No need for paint IMO. Also, it's not silver. More of a flat khaki or desert color. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I used to think everything needed to be brown or black and green including my camo clothing. But if you really look around when you're out there nature is a lot lighter than you think in most settings. A lot of the trees I hunt in have almost white and light green fungi growing on them. We also re built a tower blind one time and had this pink insulation foam showing all the way around. Time got away from us and it was time to hunt. Didn't bother the deer a bit. Nah, you don't need to paint it. It's cast so it's not shinny at all. I've killed lots of deer out of my LW's
To Shocker's point. Wait until the leaves are off of tree. Look up through the tree, you'll see mostly sky. That's what has amazed me about camo clothing. Why do so many companies think darker patterns are better?

Thanks guys, I have always liked dark mossy oak camo, hence my profile picture. I also tend to hunt out of some large dark oaks and feel i blend in better than the ligher RealTree pattern. I'm so use to painting all my stands with Brown and greens etc.
About 6 or 8 yrs ago or so I met up with a buddy and he had on his snow camo. Well it wasn't snowy and immediately I started laughing at him and asking if he was crazy. He said the tree he was hunting didn't have much cover and he would blend in better with the sky that way. He was right, I walked up on him on the way out for lunch and couldn't believe how well he blended in with the clouds behind him. It's all just matters what's around you. Another vote for no paint needed. The platform disappears in a tree better than most other stands IMO. I did paint my climbing sticks with more of a grey color and they seem to blend in much better for where I hunt but I don't think the deer would really notice either way as long as the straps are secured and not flapping around in the wind
I agree guys. Just got it delivered today and WOW. Last year I hunted out of the XOP Vanish XT and dont get me wrong, it is a nice stand. BUT..... the quality between the lone wolf and xop is a pretty big difference in my opinion. Think i'm going to sell my Vanish XT.
No need for paint, but if you're more confident with it painted then good for it. Good luck with your new setup I just got one also and love it so far.
You're not lying man. Between me and a buddy we have 4 xop silvers and they get the job done. They are solid and I'm not afraid to leave them out cause they're aluminum and not that expensive. But the lonewolf..... there's just no other like it imo. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

You guys are making a big deal over the casting difference. Last I checked...the deer don't care and they are just as safe. I'm not knocking a better quality finished product though and some of the other differences. I love them both!
