Pallet blind!!!!

Just started my first pallet blind! So far have the base and two sides completed! Invested zero dollars
Show me your home made hunting projects pallets projects would be best

Pallet blind work good. Turn them with the board running up and down. Nature is vertical, not horizontal. I did not cover mine, just put some pine branches in front of it from the tree next to it. Wire them to the boards. Good for the season. Have two of them still out there but cannot get to them. To much rain. Creek crossing is washed out for one and washout through the field for the other. They will be there is August when I go beef them up some and put the tree stands up.

 

I have 1/2 inch solid black plastic to line the inside with thought about doing brush cover on the outside

Hunted in many of them in Iowa.
They all had cedar trees/ branches wired to them.

Looking good. Just to lessen the weight and cost - why the wafer board? Why not put the black directly on the pallet? That wafer board is not water proof and some will go to pieces fast when it gets the edges wet. Just saying. It is your blind. Build it the way you want it.

 

Not sure what wafer board is but when I'm done the entire blown will be water proof and enclosed I even have some tin roofing for it I got free. Heck I'm sure it won't be perfect it's the first one I've built lol but I'll be posting pictures from it come deer season and when it's complete any advice I'll definently take

Wafer Board, Chip Board, CDX, it has several different names but it is the sheet board that you laid over the pallet and under the black plastic. I take it this will be a permanent blind as the weight would make it a beast to move. The black plastic will last forever.

 

that stuff is called OSB it stands for oriented strand board.

 

You should consider putting a card table in there then it would be full luxurious.

Yeah no matter what you coat the OSB with it will come apart, the adhesives used to construct the sheet is not water proof and will rot and get soft pretty fast.

 

I had no idea!!! I have to replace that thank you very much first blind over my first decent food plot

Exterior grade on the replacement and coat the edge with any calk to seal it. Heck it is just a blind the way you built it will get you a couple 3 years.

 

It is looking good. Got any progress pics from since the original post?

 

the only progress I've made is mowing and spraying the new plot spot. It gets hard to do a lot of work working full time and having 4 young daughters lol and I wife who's a students in college at the moment

Should be finishing the pallet blind today!!!! It'll be in its spot and ready to go for deer season!!!! I'll post pictures when im done I can't wait plus I'll get to see how well the grass is dying at the plot spot hopefully don't have to spread again because I'm out of glyphosate

I have a total investment under 30 dollars for this blind!!!! Plastic FREE, pallets FREE, tin roofing FREE, I only had to buy the screws and a few hinges
