Thankfully not. I can shoot 3. Legally I can kill more than that due to the party hunting law. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks awesome! You definitely have alot of options to hunt. Did you find any of the sheds to the mega buck?
Unfortunately no. I'm pretty sure I know what property they are on, but I don't have permission there.
This weekend the weather was horrible so I didn't get out much. I did start another mineral site at the property right by my house, and planned out where I am going to put another small food plot in the fall.
Interesting development at my #3 spot, the pasture farm. I drove by and it looks as if 150 acres or so of the pasture has been sprayed and is going to be converted into tillable. I'm going to confirm with landowner today. If they are going to drill beans into the dead pasture grass as I would suspect. I am going to offer to buy back a few acres to leave standing. That will make this farm DYNAMITE for late season.
Well I got all the new plots sprayed on #1 farm. took until after dark. Haven't been able to do anything because of all the rain. Hopefully dry spell continues and I can get soybeans in the ground.
Any chance you will take an old teammate shed hunting next year!? Id love to just run cameras in Iowa just for the pictures!
there is a lot of good shed hunting out here...even on public if you are willing to walk. I think I found 20 on public land this past spring. My biggest shed of the year (76") was on public too.
Freshened a mineral site at 120 acre lease and put up a camera Friday after work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saturday I started another kill plot by the house. This is a small triangle of crp /weeds surrounded by a giant alfalfa field and a thick creek bottom. I will be spraying it in a week and then planting radishes in August. I mowed under the edge of some overhanging limbs to create mock scrapes in the plot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yesterday I freshened a mineral site by the house. less than 3 weeks old and mineral was completely gone and deer have started digging a hole.
Ha sounds good to me! I just need to find more guys that like doing it as much as me! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I intend to hunt on public in Iowa in a couple years. I plan on doing some scouting/shed hunting next Feb/March.
