Just wondering who's all here from Minnesota, and are you hunting mainly public or private? I mainly bowhunt public land all over the state. I don't really have a core area I stick too, so one day I may be hunting around Sandstone, and the next Winona. I'm from the North Metro though.
Welcome to the site! I'm up near Ely. I have a little private I can hunt, but the majority of the time I'm on public lands.
I am from Minnesota I have a 80 acre farm in Dayton I hunt and a 40 in Clearwater. I hunt some some public land just north of the Metro as well.
Recently moved to the TC from Wisconsin. So I'm going to be hunting public land this year. First time I will be straying off the family farm back home for my hunting. Should be an interesting year with lots of "learning opportunities." Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
What part of the Twin Cities? I hunt a LOT of public fairly close by, so depending on where you're at, I may be able to help you out. I also hunt Western WI.
I'm in the South Minneapolis area and work out in Excelsior. Ideally I'd like to find some public ground in the West Metro for when I ditch work early during the week. Otherwise I'm open to going wherever the deer are. This is going to be my first year bowhunting in almost 6 years, so just sitting in a tree will be a good feeling. Gun hunting just isn't the same to me. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Well, I've got OnXMaps, and a friend from that area who may be able to help out as that's his stomping ground. I'm more East by White Bear Lake, but I hunt all over the place on the Eastern side of MN, and Western WI.
Private land between Nimrod and Leader Mn as well as south of Albany Mn as well as public anywhere I get the itch. Hence the handle Roamer. It applies to my fishing practices as well ain't any lake too far.
SW Minnesota and hunt private land 99% of the time. I'd like to venture into some more public land as time allows but I rarely have time to hunt 5 minutes from home so that likely won't happen.
Anyone have suggestions on a shop to go to (prefer South or west metro). It's my first time bow hunting in 6ish years and I need to get an arrow rest installed, get some arrows picked out, and make sure my bow is tuned up. Also, if anyone has suggestions on arrows to look at I'm open to your thoughts. I'm going to be shooting my old Hoyt Ultrasport from 2005, shooting 29" draw and 65-70 lbs. I would recommend Tales and Trails in Zimmerman but that is north. As far as arrows I am biased I prefer a little heavier arrow Carbon Express Piledrivers at 11.3 grains per inch is what I use.
