The entire Marolina Outdoor lines are making a big name in both the hunting and fishing industry. Pretty cool to see as I have enjoyed their apparel from the beginning. Former UA execs sticking it to UA is cool too.

Drury used to be w/UA also...
I own a LOT of UA stuff for both work and hunting. Like thousands of dollars worth. But I'm never buying another stitch of clothing from them again, and told them so.

I knew it was only a matter of time before they jumped. But the Nomad line up is indeed awesome. I now stay warm and go out with nearly half the layers. My only compliant so far is the leg zippers are too short

I am amazed to learn a TV hunter has jumped to a new sponsor and the new product is the best they have ever used.

NOMAD has always been on my radar...but Scentlok for out layers has treated me great....and giving Minus33 a go this year for underlayers I think I'll probably stick but NOMAD seems like a solid company and ran by solid folks.

Minus33 is a good product too and if you look around the prices aren't bad either.

Who knows, Drury crew may actually have been done with UA the second the whole Bromar thing happened and were gonna leave the second contract allowed. Who knows.

I'm guessing Nomad doesn't have near the money to throw them their way as UA did.

I know Ty I was being sarcastic, I understand how the TV hunting game must be played and how it works.

I will admit I'm guilty of quoting the comment and responding before reading who said it...if I'd seen Sota I'd have not wasted the time

From what I have seen of the Drury hunts, they stay to elevated box blinds over feed. No camo needed. You could hunt in street clothes so camo bran doesnt matter a lick.

The did not stand behind one of the shows they sponsored. The hunter killed a bear with a spear and there was a minor uproar from the tree huger PETA types and UA dropped the show and basically said they didn't believe that was an ethical way of hunting. They clearly decided that pleasing the PETA types was more important than standing behind and supporting the hunting types.

Understandable but they were only with UA for 2 seasons...not sure how long the typical sponsor-agreement lasts for but given the timing I'd guess that it had something to do with SpearGate.

It varies. Some are annual and some can last for years. Depends on the paperwork essentially. A lot have clauses in them to break the deal as well.

My 3 cents on this whole thing.

    1. Every year we go to ATA or SHOT Show and people in the UA booth act like they're above everyone else. They're the cool kids and they don't want to talk to you unless you're in their inner circle. It got to the point that we stopped even trying to cover their products. This year their booth was dead. Zero buzz, zero activity. The Bowmar thing really turned people against them. I'm sure they'll have a much larger presence at SHOT Show since there's a lot of military/law enforcement folks there.

    2. The NOMAD guys are super cool, down to Earth, willing to kick back and chat about deer hunting, clothing, etc. They make nice stuff and are making a huge push in the hunting space. Good for them.

    3. Rumor is UA forced all of their TV partners to wear Ridge Reaper camo as they were going to stop making products in Mossy Oak, Realtree, etc and go exclusively RR. Drury has been with Mossy Oak since Day 1 and they opted to bail from UA rather than turn their back on a company that's supported them for 20+ years. I have zero idea if that's true, but if it is much respect to them. The Drury team has been around for years and they're good people.

In the end I like the NOMAD team, I like the Drury team, and I'm glad they're working together. Good for both of them. :tu:
