Hey...Big Ben is a BALLER. 2nd favorite QB in the NFL. Just didnt do enough to get any votes this year.
Everybody knows that you have to make it to the SB and win to get a ring, neither David or Matt have ever done that.
No way do I think Rodgers should get it his play was no where near where it should be. Personally I don't care who get's it, it's like the Oscars multi millionaires patting themselves on the back for doing there job that they are over paid for.
No NFL player is over payed when you consider how much revenue the NFL generates. Would you tolerate making a small % if you were a star employee of a company that made billions.
Not to derail the convo, but i agree. Look at how much money Budweiser, Pepsi, Coke, ect all make off of football.
I've never seen a more biased person than you, Sota. Give me legitimate reasons Rodgers should be the MVP over David Johnson, Matt Ryan, Zeke, or Tom Brady (without mentioning title town, Packers Stock, the Vikings, or other NFL players that have lost to Rodgers). Why does every NFL discussion on this forum eventually turns into a Vikings vs Packers debate. The Vikings have 0 MVP contenders yet I'm reading posts about our new stadium, etc.
Brady is split but I truly do feel Rodgers is much more valuable to a team than Zeke is to anyone. Pick up Zeke and move him to Cleveland wouldn't have as big of an impact as if you shipped Aaron there. Otherwise I'm with you 100% (given Brady split for me)
Lots of truth here. Also, you cant just plug in any QB in Cleveland and assume he would be successful. Brady wouldn't set the world on fire with the way the pocket collapses in CLE, but a Rodgers or Wilson would definitely make them a 8-8 or better team right away.
Jake, why so sensitive? It really facilitates people like me making sport of viking fans. Am I making stuff up? Does the siding not blow off the stadium? Do the viking fans load up the bandwagon at 5-0 only to dismount rapidly in late November? Back to your question Zeke does not get the MVP because of the O line of the C'boys same as Dak. Tommy Ugg's does not get it because his team went 3-1 with a back up. David Johnson plays for a team that is a nonfactor in the last month of the season. Matt does not get the MVP because of well he is Matt Ryan and the Falcons have a reputation of folding like a cheap tent at nut cutting time.
When Brady wins another Super Bowl ring how does he decide which finger to use since it is for the opposite hand. He could call Rodgers for advice but he hasn't even had to worry about what finger to use next yet
Out of all the people in the entertainment industry I do agree that football players are the most deserving out of the group. I don't begrudge anybody for making money but it has gotten out of hand but people are still willing to pay go go to games so what do I know.
Sensitive? Just pointing out what I see on here. Sure the stuff is true - I was just curious why it's brought up in every NFL thread started. This is the most thought out reasoning against an MVP I've seen yet "Matt does not get the MVP because of well he is Matt Ryan." Matt has had the better season... Plain and simple. Rodgers had a "rough" first half and Ryan has been the leagues best QB the entire season. Why is Rodgers the better choice?
In all seriousness about the AP MVP award, it is picked by writers and there are biases. Zeke being a rookie and a rookie running back goes against him as well as Dak. Matt while deserving does kinda have a bias against him with writers, not sure what the basis is for it but out of the 4 front runners he is least likely to get it. I do not think Tom will get it because the most games an MVP has missed in a season is 3 games, it may have helped Brady's case if the Pats went 0-4 without him. If Aaron were to win it will be because he called his shot and then delivered, playing on national TV for all the marbles and the division and if he has a great game will be the last the writers see for the season and it might give him an advantage.
