Congrats! That is a fantastic buck. Even more special considering that MD is not known for big bucks. Great job!

I was unaware of this until Holt told me. Its just not as much out there as Illinois and Iowa and Kansas

MD could have big bucks, but lots of hunting pressure and 4 buck tags don't let many bucks get mature. The closer you get to the rivers and the bay the bigger the bucks seem to be, better farm ground. There are little pockets all over MD that produce monsters. Most of my biggest bucks I have shot was always near a large river on big farm land. MD has potential with fertil farms on eastern shore and mild winter's. Western MD is complete opposite, mostly big woods and mountains with smaller deer.

Thanks man! I got some VPA broadheads off your recommendation, so far I'm liking them! I also ordered some Helix, still waiting for them. Hoping to test them out this spring to shoot next year.

A little update! I am heading out soon to get him officially scored by a pope and young scorer in about 1 1/2 hours. So tonight I will have the numbers and see were he will rank in MD. I'm looking forward to see how close I was on scoring him. The last time I scored him I got 202 3/8 Gross and 193 Net. Lets see what happens! I will post the official score tonight!

Well it's official! 203 6/8 gross and 194 2/8 net! I missed all time B & C by 3/4" but he does make the awards. I didn't enter him in any of the books tonight, but I probably going to put him in Pope and young book. I did sign him up for the MD record book and will be entered in next year as # 8 biggest non typical bow kills of all time! I can't believe it!
