Anyone been out the last couple of weeks? I have been too busy. I have one to three doe tags left depending on if I want to travel to a different part of the state.
I have not been out in a few weeks. Work and family are taking priority right now. Still need to put down a buck. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoyed Thanksgiving with family and has a joy filled Holiday and a very blessed Christmas. God is good.
Watched a 180ish ten for an hour with a bunch of other bucks during Iowa second shotgun season. Shot a really nice 160ish 10 plus kickers and split brows. I thought I shot the big one but he might be the best mistake buck I have heard of.
Thanks Mudshark. I had a great Christmas. On Friday I found out that I won a raffle for a custom rifle built on a Remington 700 action. I loved watching my wife and kids open presents, and I am very much looking forward to using the new backpack I got for elk season next year. I also just won the bid on a Hoyt Charger at $270.00. That really wasn't part of the plan, but I've only heard good things about them. It will be my first experience with Hoyt. Merry Christmas to all.
After a horrible ordeal to get a passport for out preadoptive son, my wife and I took our family to Canada to meet my parents. It is his first international trip, first flight, and first time meeting his new grandparents. We are having a great time. Merry Christmas everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have shot a Hoyt Charger with the setup in my signature for two seasons. I shopped several bows at the new price point from Bear, PSE, Mission and others. It had the smoothest draw and best speed. You will love it. At $270.00 that is an incredible steal. If you do not like it, you should be able to resell at a profit. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Going out next Sunday since they extended our season so hopefully something makes a mistake and walks to close
How much season does everyone have left? I have until the end of February and three doe tags left. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
First time back on line. To much time spent at work making sure the year closes out. Any spare time spent with family over Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. Did find time to head to the mountains for two great days on the Tuckasiegee River. Bottom line, my season ended Monday and only posted a doe this season. Very poor season with very limited deer. Good luck to the team with any open tags.
I occasionally hear them howl across the river from me as the sun goes down. This was the first time I saw one while hunting. She spooked about 15 does that were headed my way before coming into range. Spun in three circles and dropped right there. About 30 minutes later I had a doe come down the same trail, she saw the dead 'yote and bolted before I could get a shot off at her. It was an eventful night.
