I posted an update in the watercooler. I said going into this that I would be happy with anything under 5 hours. I managed that. It was still a lot slower than my original goal of 4:00 or less, but with all of the injuries and set-backs I guess I should be thankful that I wasn't even slower. It was very tough, but it was a lot of fun too. Oh, and somehow I managed to accumulate an extra quarter mile, which I definitely could have done without.

I actually considered getting up Sunday morning to hunt behind the house. I didn't consider it very long. I could barely walk. :) I'll be bow hunting this weekend.

Not been out for a while but t I'm able to get out 2moz all day. Temps are 19 at sunrise and 25 mid day. I would like to do a all day sit but with them temps I think it will be 2 sits with coyote hunting in between (on a different farm 2 miles away). I'll keep you updated on any action.

Well, I'm pumped. For the longest time the vast majority of the deer movement here at my home place has been at night. The past week or so it's really shifted.

Today when I got home from work I checked my cameras. I had a really good (for here) 8 point come through on video this morning at 7:58 am following a doe. He was followed by a fork horn and then a smaller 8 point.

I've been having a lot of daytime movement. I was going to travel to hunt this weekend, but this is the big 8 from last year. He's around 130 to 140. Only an idiot would pass on him here.

I'm staying home and hunting my own land this weekend. Does will be on the menu too.

It'll be nice to get back after them.

We've been on our managed hunt now for just a little over a week. Been seeing quite a few does and smaller bucks, 80-90".
There are some really nice bucks out there. It is just tough to get on them in a 2 week time frame.
We still have until the 18th to have any luck out there. We have to take a doe first. I've done that, I'm now after the antlers. If that don't pan out I'll whack a couple more does.
I still have until the 15th of January for our state season.
    Good Luck guys!!!

    Merry Christmas Rodney!

Well guys I decided to go hunting this AM. It's 15f with a high of 30f with not much wind. I'm wrapped up with 6 layers and will stay out as long as possible for 2 sits.

You need to set a formal introduction with that gentleman. Introduce him to your bow.

Congrats man! I wish I could go again next year. It was the most fun I have ever had hunting. If I could do that every year and not hunt anything around the house in Wisconsin I totally would.
