After 2 days of the same henson mentioned i said anything was going down on Sunday. We have about 10 2yr old bucks on this property so i didnt mind taking one for the freezer. bad news is it was with my shotgun. Good news is i still have a buck tag left and will be getting after it again soon. probably this weekend.

Windy for opening weekend of gun season in WI for sure. Didn't matter to me. Had the doe down shortly after first light. Gutted and dragged out of the woods right away. 15 minutes after I had her out of the woods the spike came by dogging a tiny doe. Didn't even look at the head and shot the bigger of the two deer. Either way, glad to help my cousin on the farm with the deer problem.

Traded my rifle for the muzzleloader for Saturday afternoon and Sunday but didn't see anything else.

Figured I would check in since its been awhile. Not much going on in my neck of the woods. Gun season came in so everything is skittish now. Been checking the cams and not much activity. Seems like they locked down and then chased for about 2 days and locked down again. We do still have some does with fawns so they need to bred yet. Headed to IL for 2 days this week so maybe I can put something down there. I seem to have a negative orb around me and cant get anything killed. LOL

i know the newest version of huntstand has parcel info but you have to sign in and you only get so many inquiries for the trial. But it doesnt have 100% of the info. Where i was at in southern IL it didnt cover but up around my house (30 mi east of st louis) it does.

Well since i have no big deer of my own to share... ...yet, here are a couple amazing ones a good buddy and local guy killed.
First one is my buddy. his farm butts right up to the Drurys in northern MO. it scored 182 with broken brow and 2 broken flyers. Second one was killed in the clothes he has on while he was hanging his stand. he said something told him to bring his bow. it green scored 230.

Tomorrow im pulling an all dayer on what we call "The Island of Giants". its an island in the Mississippi where huge bucks go when the pressure finally drives them off of the mainland. Last year i missed what would be my biggest buck to date there. Cant wait!

Doe down. Passed several small bucks, still holding out for one of the big boys I've been seeing.
