I told her I need to be warm so I can hunt during those all important cold fronts as my time is limited having a little one at home. Not sure she bought it, but I did...buy the gear that is
I have scentlock gear now but for 20 years I hunted in a torn old piece of really old military camo sitka is nothing more than a hyped up piece of camo that is like 950 bucks over priced
Until you have hunted in it, I don't know you can say that? If you've tried it and didn't like it I could understand, but there is a reason it costs so much......
I have WAY too much camo from 40 years of bowhunting to start over.....especially at the price this stuff is running. My ASAT keeps me warm until the low 20's and teens, then I have an IWOM to switch over to. Glad you like it but it is way too pricey for my tastes.
Sitka threads always go this way. Some of us love it, others never tried it but just bash the price. It's all good. That's why having choices is a good thing. You use what you like, I'll use what I like. Thankfully other's opinions do not factor into my decision making .
It's great I have the sweatshirt, stratus pants and jacket and also have the fanatic jacket. Will probably get the fanatic bibs next year. I have loads of other camo from real tree to cabelas to scent lock and they work but the Sitka out performs. Only complaint I have is I wish the gloves came with a little string attached like my kids mittens cause I lost one and that was $60 down the drain. Price is long forgotten after value and quality is matched

It seems to boil down to a matter of priorities. Many think nothing of spending a $1000 for a bare bow and close to the same to further set it up (rests, sights, stabilizers, quivers, peeps, arrows, broad heads etc.) yet when it comes to comfort (clothing) and safety (clothing, stands, harnesses etc.) they try to save. Indeed, a $200 bow will kill just as well as a $1000 bow when the arrow is placed in the right place. I would much rather be stuck in the woods with the best or most expensive clothing I can buy (EG. Sitka) than the best or most expensive bow. I say the same about tree stands, hardnesses and safety equipment. It is just priorities, the sad part is that is usually takes someone having an accident to re-adjust their priorities. Tom
To me the value of staying in the stand is very important. You might have the best bow, arrows, broadheads, and tree stands, but they can't help you if you're not in the tree. I refuse to let the weather dictate whether I hunt or not. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
^^^^^THIS I used to be one of the guys laughing at people spending that muck on "camo". I made the investment this year and although we haven't had temps like these other guys do out west when it's 22 degrees with the wind chill that's cold to me.... I have been able to stay in the stand I have seen more deer this year than any other season I have hunted this year.
Totally true BUT i would argue the stand actually helps with bad weather.. being quiet and more stable on cold or windy days. T
I did not say anything about warmth. I said quiet and safe... a cast stand will not make noise in extreme cold unlike cheaper stands and being safer should be self explanatory. T
It might keep you warm and I'm sure it's nice but it is 80 degrees here at Christmas so I don't have much need for it
