Got it done last Saturday. He came by at 8:00, but stayed just out of range. Didn't respond to grunts and thought about coming into a snort wheeze, but kept on his way out of my life. At about 9:30 he came back, but was about 120 yards away walking a ridge angling away from me. Grunted, he stopped and took two steps towards me. When he put his head down I grunted again and he came trotting in on a rope. Shot him at 15 yards, through the shoulder blade, and out the other side. Not a great shot, but he ran 100 yards before expiring. I know it's a big debate, but I think the Rage Hypodermics really bailed me out. I didn't think they would blast through bone like that. This was the biggest buck I had on camera all year and the only buck I really planned on shooting unless a big roamer came through. With little pictures of him and no daytime pictures, I didn't really plan on shooting a buck this year. I scouted and hunted hard this year, though, and was rewarded for it. A couple of pictures him after he lost his velvet. He had a couple kickers off his G2s, but lost them. I had a ton of pictures of that buck he's with. Hope he makes it until next year.
