Ok here is my question. Got my new strings and cables put on yesterday, peep and dloop as well. My bow tech told me like 50 shots to set the string in. As of posting this I'm around the 200 shot range and my peep keeps twisting to the right and the dloop is going hard left. I can put them back inline by hand and my shot is dead on but then they are off again. The dloop has serving on top of top knot to keep it from moving up, but it seems the dloop is very loose because it turns so easy. Is the issues stated normal for shooting in a new string.
no, in my opinion that is not normal. a good set of strings should only take a few shots to settle in without the peep rotating.
How soon did you put your peep in? Sometimes if you install your peep immediately you have to give the string a 1/2 twist/untwist once the string sets to get the peep straight again. I started waiting to even put the peep in until I shoot 50 times or so.
The peep and dloop was put in when the string and cables were installed. My tech did say it would take 50 shots for the string to shoot in. Quess I will take it back and let him look at it maybe it's the string needs a twist added to it. Any ideas on the dloop maybe it's to loose on the string.
Can you post a picture of the loop? It's possible the knots are tied incorrectly. Usually even if a loop isn't pulled tight enough when installing, it cinches itself down the first time you draw the bow.
I can try to post a pic of it not real good at doing that lol. I'm perrty certian it's tied right its tied the same as the dloop he put on my old strings and they never moved like this one is now on my new strings. I gave my bow tech a call and he said it's normal for it to do that with new strings, I went with strings and cables made by a company called (Threads). He suggested them are Vaportrail.
Yea ommmm no peep being installed wrong ain't the problem, got it fixed today, string was shot in and needed a twist added to fix the problem also the dloop was loose so got it tightened up and everything is back and right ready for my morning sit.
exactly, if the peep is installer properly it wouldnt need another twist...says many years of working on my own bows.
