Congrats on the buck man! Great write up, be proud of that sucker.

mobow, Sorry you didn't recover your deer. Keep at it

I'm in a tree right now for an all day sit. Passed a nice 2.5 y.o 8 this morning, but I'm surprised by the lack of movement.

Had a good day today! Didn't see a deer til 11:30, had a doe come in and just stand by me for a hour. She never moved. She brought in 2 - 8 pts, which stood beside her the whole time at 30 yards from me. The 8 pt was a great buck, just not what I was looking for (starting to regret that decision ). The finally the doe started walking away then the buck breed her right there. Never seen that in person before. Had a 3rd buck come in, small fork horn. That was it til last light and ended up seeing the fork horn, another small buck and a fawn. Over all a good rut day! Pretty sure this is the buck that breed the doe.

Well, for sitting for 12 hours yesterday, all I saw was a small spike at 10:15AM and a doe at 5:20PM! I did spook something coming down from my stand. That was it, no cruising or chasing.

You're a more patient man than I! That's a heckuva deer. Hopefully your patience pays off.

Well that buck got shot last night about 5 hours after I watched him by another guy hunting the same property. Great deer with a ton of mass. But there are bigger ones here! I will post some pics of him tonight.

Hunted all weekend seen 3 yesterday and 5 today. I had a nice 8 point about 15 yards but couldn't get a clear shot. Hopefully be back out Tuesday evening. The bucks are really starting to move here.

Didn't see a single deer today. Have the whole week off and will back at it tomorrow. Moving deeper into the property tomorrow. Here is a pic of that buck I passed on Saturday and another buddy shot.

I got out this evening. I had 2 yearling siblings hang out with me for most of the afternoon. After they left I had a nice buck that didn't come any closer than 60 yards.

Had a long day today. Sat all day and only deer I saw was a wide 7 pt right at first light. He came thru the funnel perfect and past by me at 8 yards. Just need a big boy to do that! I'm taking the day off from hunting tomorrow and going back at it Wednesday - Saturday all day sits. One good thing is the 2 farms next door they are taking the corn out tomorrow, so that will push the deer back into the woods.

There are pockets all over MD but there are consistently big bucks killed over there each year. I don't get over to that lease as much but I keep it year after year for that reason.

Good luck today Sean, shoot a monster!

Thanks! Good luck to you as well. My buddy is there now. He saw some good ones last night but said they were still bedded down as of this morning. They must have moved early with the rain. Hoping I get there as it's ending on that side of the bridge.

I feel sick guys! We're I'm at we get 1 Sunday hunt a year with bow and it was last Sunday. I decided to go to breakfast with family and hunt the evening. Just checked camera and pretty sure my #1 buck walked by at 9:15! I got a good pic in the middle of night Saturday. But the pic on Sunday was just nose and tip of main beam, but pretty sure it was him. I hate cameras some times!

Since it rained today, I got into the woods. From 9:30AM until 5:30PM. I saw exactly 2 tree rats, period. How can this be on Nov 9th????? I had good vibes going in too! I think I can do a last dark to dark on Sat.

Its been really slow, for the most part the only deer I see is right at first light or the last hour. Today I saw a lot more activity, but zero mid day stuff.

Officially on vacation. 8 days of bow hunting, then 3 with the shotgun. I'll be solo for 2 days on one property. then 3 days with a buddy at a different place. Then I'll have that place to myself for another 3 days.
I'm in Southern Illinois with the rut hopefully just heating up and cooler weather really just beginning.
    I plan on killing something!
    Good luck team!
