DRT Broadheads

Has anybody used any of the dirtnap DRT broadheads? If so how do they preform?

 

Don't by the single beveled heads as they arent a true blade single believed and didn't perform like one should.

What about the double beveled ones?

 

I couldn't use the ones that I bought with the 125 collar on cause it only grabbed by 1 thread or so in my fmj's.
I did shoot one at 100 gr. just to try them, and it flew just fine and I'm sure will do the job but mine whistled pretty loud in flight.

 

I have used both single and double bevel heads for a couple of years with nothing but TOTAL success. I now ONLY shoot the single bevel as it creates a greater wound channel, therefore more blood, shorter trails and easier to spot trails. The single bevel will spin as it enters flesh and really open it up.
I shoot the 125 grain and have had no trouble. They are easy to tune and fly well out to 50. I do think they make more noise than my other heads (ST Magnum) but it has not been an issue. They are super durable and sharp.

How should one perform? I have had excellent results from my single bevel heads from DRT.

This! ^^ I had bad luck with the single bevel as well. Very poor penetration.

However, they tuned and flew well, therefore, I would guess the double bevel would perform similarly to other two blade heads.

I doubt that I will ever spend any more of my money on any of their products.

 

I bought a couple packs to try them out. 5 out of the 6 didn't spin true. That's all I needed to see. I'll stick with Magnus Buzzcuts. Never had a bad one.

My boyfriend and I both have been using them this year. We both took does and they did their job. I have no complaints on the double bevel. Their customer service is great too. I got a bad head in one of my packs and they promptly replaced it.

They'll even replace a head if you damage it while hunting.

 

I bought a few packs to try them but they didn't fly very good so I moved to Wac'em and will be sticking with them.

 

They fly great for me, penetrates well, and all spin true. My only complaint it the whistle when you shoot the but I'm guessing the buck I shot didn't here a thing.

Many of the vented fixed blade broadheads whistle or make some sort of noise in flight. I don't think the deer notice it as the heads I used this year and last year made quite a bit of noise in flight.

 

I'm just looking to try something different this next season. And in oregon we can't use mechanical broadheads.
