I seen him today, Mr high and wide. Seen another buck at 0905 cruising would not respond to grunt call, must have been on a mission for something else,. Still in a tree I'll explain more later

    Did I screw up?
    I pulled groin muscle
The other day, I was setting up a scent pad in the dark and tripped over some brush. I tried to catch myself by sticking my leg out. I still fell, and pulled a muscle. Anyway I am driving 4wheeler in stead of walking in to my spot. I am driving down an edge of the field to my parking spot to walk into my stand. What do I see but Mr.high and wide. He is facing the open field, and turns around runs into the woods. I go another 100 yards and park and walk into woods to my stand. East wind I traveling west. Did I blow him out or just an Inconvenience for today. Property owners run 4 wheelers up and down same path to go to daughter's residence.

    ?????????
    I hope not!!!!

If the property owners drive 4 wheelers in there on a regular basis and the wind was in your favor, you are probably good. Maybe let it rest until the weekend. If the does in that area are starting to come into estrus he did not go far and he will be back. Rest will do your groin good anyway so next time you can walk in quietly.

If there are does starting to get hot he will probably be back and pay little attention to you. If not I would predict that he is going to be a little more paranoid.

I don't think you have anything to worry about since they use 4 wheelers on a regular basis.

I agree. As long as you don't chase him like some places I have hunted before :).

Friday is the day boys! It will be my last day of work for 23 straight days. I will be hunting every morning, evening, and have 5-10 all day sits in there. I tend to lose weight and will be very sleep deprived but I will be very in tune with nature. It takes a couple of weeks to adjust to society after living with the squirrels, deer, and turkey for that long. I love it and I am pumped!!!!

I wish I could add more points for us. I even considered getting a North Dakota tag, but I just don't have the time or money (and it is just a contest). I sat on public land in the rain this morning. After the rain quit I had no fewer than 4 cars drive through and stop within 60 yards of my stand looking across an opening that the deer should come through. It is rifle season and I am wearing blaze orange sitting in a tree 20 yards from the road, and they can't see me? Then I had 2 guys that drove right past me walk in from the other end right up to my stand. They apparently did not see me until they got right up to me, cuz when the one guy looked up he waved and they went back the way they came. I had less competition when I lived in Lincoln, NE with 100000 people than I have here in Hardin with a population of less than 3000.
