Made it out last night in the wind and drizzle but ended up seeing a bunch of deer! One of which being the big 10 I have on camera! wasn't comfortable with the shot so I decided to pass! Man are these enclosed box blinds an amazing option for those days you can't sit in a stand! Also got a call from a friend that is a sales rep in the hunting industry and is hooking me up with and ozonics and accessories! Excited to give it a try! I have mixed feelings with these going in but I know people that swear by them!

Got out for a sit tonight after work. Oddly I didn't see a thing moving. First time in that stand I haven't seen a thing. Pretty disappointed. Pulled the card on the way in and have at least 2 different shooters but all in the dark.

Update on my hunts. Went out yesterday morning for the first time all season. Felt awesome to get back in a stand. Ended up seeing one doe at 50 yards, kind of a let down. The afternoon I setup over a food plot that is in between two big blocks of timber. Saw one doe on the way into the stand and that was it. I was really disappointed I didn't see anymore than that. It was so hot yesterday I'm thinking they just didn't move until dark. Checked the camera on that plot this morning, cause I didn't go out, and had a shooter in there at 2:30 am this morning checking out a mock scrape we put in the plot. I'm going back in there tonight and hope I have better luck today.

My hunt went to stand last night. Ended up having I deal with a trespasser the better part of the afternoon.

Hopefully he makes it through. Well since i posted thatbucks were moving i havent seen much since. I think this warm weather is holding the rut back. The fun of second guessing all my decisions is starting to take place. I have to keep coaching myself that these are good spots.

Same here. No day light deer sightings or pictures since October 10th or something like that... until last night.
We haven't touched our best food plot in about a month. Buddy sat on it last night and started texting me at 530 that he had does coming out. And the texts didn't stop. By the time it was dark he had seen 10 different bucks and had another grunting on the trail behind him and 10-12 more does. The bucks were anywhere from spikes to 8s but there were 2 6s and 2 8s that stood out. One of the first bucks that came out was an 8 that was as big or bigger than his 150" 10 he shot last year. Only odd thing is that none of them were chasing yet. Looks like I should be able to make one more hunt happen on Thursday before firearms season opens on Saturday.

    Quick update.
Got back from my 4 day hunt Sunday night. Generally speaking I had a great week, saw over 20+ different bucks (3 different shooters between my buddy and I) with multiple close encounters with a couple 10 pointers and a few 8 pointers... just need another year. The pre-rut is definitely on in our neck of the woods, every buck sighted was either cruising or bumping a doe.
I'll be back at it on Friday for a full week; that will be my best chance of knocking down on of these big boys. Can't wait.! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.!

My private land is surrounded by state land so since gun opens this weekend and I'm going to a football game I won't be getting out but after that my land will have no pressure due to my uncles and cousins all hunting first season

Getting out tomorrow to hunt the big plot once more before firearms season opens this weekend. Wish me luck. There's a couple big fellas out there.
