We talk about it all the time, but I don't think this can be overstated. Please wear your harness.

A guy I know from work was in a treestand accident. He ended up breaking his back in a couple places. Wasn't wearing a harness.

Preferably use a lifeline as well when you can.

Yep, wear it. My brother-in-law fell 20ft last year. Somehow he escaped with no severe injuries, but it could have ended much, much worse. It will be the best $100 you ever spend.

Thanks guys, sometimes I just wonder and think, how many people need to be hurt or killed before everyone takes it serious.

I had a friend a couple years ago go up a stand, then decided to trim a branch, while reaching he fell broke his neck
had to crawl to his 4 wheeler and ride back to cabin where other hunting buddies found him.

took some time but he is hunting again, but since then I have a harness, I have lifelines, I spend a lot of time in off season making sure my shooting lanes are cleared etc.

not worth the risk to not spend $100 and wear the harness

Sad to hear. Great reminder though as more and more people are hitting the woods.

Always a must, I'll be honest I have been tempted not to put wear one when I'm out stalking and come across a home made stand built with 2x6's and huge nails as steps to get up in it, but always do otherwise. Not smart, wear your harness.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Thank you for the reminder, it's mind boggling that people will spend $1200.00 on a bow, but yet, not wear a dam safety harness.......

I picked up the hunter safety system bowhunter harness off amazon for only 50 bucks ! It's a lot more comfortable and easy to get on and off than those harnesses that come with the stand

I ALWAYS wear my HSS ultralight harness. One thing I did change this year is that I previously would climb up and get on the stand platform and then put my harness strap on and strap in. Now, I get to the top stick and strap in before I step onto the stand.

My dad always uses his summit climber and never straps to the tree until he is all the way up. Hes stubborn and I've told him a couple times now that he should strap to the tree and keep it a little loose and slide it up as you climb. He doesn't listen though.

I use a climber and thats what I do.. Leave it a little lose and slide it up as I go but if the stand was to come out from under me or I lose my balance I know its gonna catch and save me. I have a wife and kids to get home to when Im done hunting.. My #1 priority.
