Our season is now closed until October 15th. Nice break to get some more harvesting done and maybe get into the stand a time or two.

I'm still just over here waiting! We open up on 10/26. I'm going to get out as soon as possible as there should be some lingering wood ducks in the rivers around where I'm at.
I really want to get a drake woodie to mount

Our season opens back up tomorrow but we finished combining beans last night and started corn today so I wont get out again until corn is combined.

    Anyone going out this weekend?

Working today and tomorrow. Then I'm going to try and scout some geese Sunday afternoon. Gotta kill some time for a few days before I head to MI to hunt with JPT. :tu: I can't wait because it will be the first duck hunt of the season for me.

For sure! Hopefully we get on some birds. He said it's been kinda slow the last couple times he's went out.

Finding them first is key. i wasted so much time in my past just blindly setting up in a field cause i had permission. If they arent in the area i wouldnt even bother. If they are in the area its possible to decoy and convince them to come in, if you find them using a field regular and gain permission you need to be in that field no questions. As far as your other question, if you are going to set up and imitate feeding geese then you gotta do just that. if i use shells in a field i try to get them up on stakes and use active and feeder heads. Until it gets super cold then hou can use some sleepers and resters mixed in. What style heads are on your shells and full bodies?
