End of December threw about the middle of January and hope we get some what of a cold front to help things out. Of course this is in Alabama.
Oct 28th till Nov 4th for my area. As a fail safe I always take every Thu - Fri off starting the last weekend in Oct to the 3rd week in Nov... gives me 4 days in the woods every week during prime time...
I will hunt from Halloween, which will be a new moon, through Nov 11 if needed. This is the time period when most activity takes place in my area. I'll do dark to dark hunts each day. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!
I have off Halloween, go to work for 4 days then I'm off from nov 5-13. Hopefully I can get some half days or something off any other days this year. Those 4 days working November 1-4 will probably be awesome too haha
man we see the same threads year after year after year. lol I'm taking the 2ndweek of November off always seems to be the best for me. u cant go wrong from the last weekend in oct and the first 2.5 weeks of November
Looks like I'm also taking Oct 28th and Nov. 1st off to give me a 4 day mini-deercation before the rut really starts to kick off.
I used to always start my vacation around Halloween. But I began to notice that activity really started to pick up around Nov. 8th every year. Now I usually schedule it beginning around Nov. 5th. That's just speaking about the property I hunt. It may be different for everyone else. This year I will be starting on the 5th and go through to the 18th. Blessings..........Pastorjim
oct 27th is my last day of work for the year so i have plenty of rutcation. Hoping for cooler weather this season. Best days hopefully will be oct 30 -nov 3rd
Where I hunt in Central Arkansas, I have always seen the best movement from Veteran's Day to Thanksgiving Weekend. I have a tradition of taking my son with me for an evening sit on Veteran's Day and then I hunt as much as I can until the Monday after Thanksgiving.
You'll find that to be the case on any forum, with any topic, if you stay on there long enough. I think it really benefits the folks who are fairly new to this sport, who don't know a lot yet. Learning these dates can be a make or break for some hunters.
Oct. 28th- Nov.4; Rifle opener in MN is Nov. 5th. Gives me a chance to get into the woods before everything turns blaze orange.
For the last 3 years I have kept my calendar clear for the last week in October through the second week in November. I then do my best to evaluate how things are going and squeeze work in when I need to. It seems that years ago Late October always produced for me, but in the past 5 years 5 or 6 days into November has always been supreme time to be in the deer woods. I'm in Northwestern Illinois for point of reference.
