I got the closet. And the one for the car. They're both great. Just got them yesterday. Thinking of ordering the bag as well.
This is what I do. After i pull clothes out of laundry i put them in scent lok tote and run the Whitetail'r unit. I can plug the unit in while its in the tote while driving to my hunting spot too. I don't need battery power, I'm not off the grid at some remote camp.
This what I use, I put all my gear in my vehicle the night before and run it for half hour or so, kills the scent of your car and on your gear. No bag required.
Love my ScentCrusher bag. Took me almost a year of debating and reading articles and reviews to pull the trigger. But finally did and has been well worth it so far. I still play the wind though....
I'm in this same boat kb. I'm still looking at reviews and listening to people that have it. It really does seem like a good deal!!
I've been looking to make an ozone closet, but the more I read, the less I want to make it. Apparently ozone breaks down rubber, plastic, and the elastic in your clothes. I've also heard not to run it in the vehicle. Has anyone that uses ozone experienced any of this or has anyone read anything about it?
my buddy who bought me my Scent crusher bag called me to warn me. he put his binoculars( in the case they came with) in the bag with his clothes. he said he ran it for 10 min and it warped the rubber lens covers. Rubber and elastic it is hard on
Thats what i'm going to do. put all yoru camo and boots in the bin and set the whitetail'r unit on top and put the lid on it. The cord is small enough i think it would just fold flat to put the top on the bin.
Buying ozone just to have it ruin your gear doesn't seem worth it to me. Might just stick to letting them hang outside.
I have been on the fence about the bag as well. I normally just leave all my cloths hanging outside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The scent crusher bag has me very interested and I'm considering picking one up also. If I did I'd like to also get the "on the go" unit as well for inside a vehicle. Can this be ran while you are in the vehicle? I've heard of people being skeptical of being in contact with the ozone as it's running and I am curious.
I run an ozone machine in my truck for about an hour a day...just pull in plug it in and go. I have no doubt it puts out ozone quicker than the little on the go thing could but I still leave window cracked minimum if I get in it shortly after running the machine. Ventilation if you are present is a must. Running the on the go device for short times especially if you are venting the cabin of the truck I wouldn't see as an issue at all. Now just setting vehicle off for an extended amount of time with no ventilation probably wouldn't be a good call.
$30 ozone generator on ebay + $15 portable closet from IKEA. IMO I'd rather kill the odor best I can than take a odor with me.
Ozone is only going to effect soft plastics if they are exposed for a long period of time, I've had the same clothes hangers in my ozone closet for years now.
