LSU offers 0 competition for recruiting within the state, just like Ohio.

Are those programs going to have an open position? I'd be worried about Texas, definitely, I'm the biggest Texas fan right now.

I think Chip Kelly will be the next coach at USC.

Who else that may have an open position could compete with LSU in money and resources? You can talk about LSU's state funding, but LSU has serious private money. Remember Louisiana is just as much O&G as Texas.

I don't want Herman any where near the big ten, lol.

Lol... That's what Bama said. ;)
In all honesty, I'd be sweating bullets if LSU landed Herman. Who outside of LA wouldn't?
But it's just not the right fit. I think we all know that. It's a lot of fun to speculate and play "what ifs", but if/when Herman turns the position down, the most likely scenario is that the interim HC assumes the position full time. He's a natural fit and everyone knows it's his dream job. If he's able to turn the tide and finish strong, it'll be a done-deal.

The only way Orgeron retains the jobs is if he somehow wins out or only has 1 loss. And even then he will be a fall back option.

Aranda is going to be looking for work again. I'm happy with the DC we got from USC but DA can't seem to keep a job very long. He always ends up in the vacuum of a coaching change. LOL

Aranda is a high priority to keep, even with a new staff.

I don't know, man... I see four potential L's on the schedule. If he can split 2/2 and get them matched up with a cream puff bowl opponent, I think he's in; especially if Herman declines.

Like I said, for Orgeron to be retained as HC, he would have to really turn around the season, and all of the top targets would have to turn down LSU.

How do you know? No one knows who the new staff will be. The new coach may want to bring his own guys in.

Gotcha. I still say that remains to be determined as the AD is telling fans what they want to hear now.

If the new coach is a big name and he wants his own guy guess who is going to win that battle.

I'm sure it will all be in the negotiations.

I'd get rid of Aranda if it means we get Herman though.

Lane Kiffin wants and gets his own guy.

He then brings in Rob Ryan. That is your future.

Mark Dantonio hasn't been mentioned. He does more with less than anyone. Would like to see what he could do with a more athletic roster. Although, I hope he stays at Michigan State.

Hey Hook, you guys could always get ahold of Gerry Dinardo and bring him back home to BR. He can be reached over at the B1G Television Network... You'd be doing us up here in the B1G a huge service.
