Hey there everyone, I currently work with a company called Pro-Tracker and we offer a system that attaches to your bow with a hook and transmitter. This allows you to track your deer using GPS to transmit a signal to a receiver. As of right now, the price is set at 700 dollars for the complete system for a compound bow and 750 dollars for a crossbow. Personally, I think the price may be set a bit too high. We see a ton of traffic to the site, but not enough sales. I think people are interested in the idea, but not the price. That being said, I thought I'd ask my fellow hunters. What do you all think a good price for a system like this should be? What would you pay? Thanks, everyone.
I think your price point would price most people right out of the market. There are other option on the market at a lower price point, nearly half the price. See Game Vector - Shop as an example. I know it's different, but it does basically the same thing, just in a different way.
Something to think about, possibly re-design so that the transmitter can be tracked by GPS from an app on a smart phone. The cost to produce would be much cheaper, and you could sell at a much more attractive price.
Pros- 1. Attractive website 2. Solid hook on the receiver 3. Pretty simple design 4. Seems fairly easy to use Cons- 1. Price 2. Your videos look like they were shot at high fence hunting operations. The blinds are just out in the open for the deer hunt. A more realistic real word example would go along way. maybe even a farther out shot like 40 yards to show penetration of the hook. 3. Price 4. In the example it says to point the receiver in the direction of the transmitter....isn't the entire point of owning this system the fact that you don't know where the animal is? How many times have you been following a blood trail only to find the animal circled back. 5. The website does not tell you how strong the signal is. what is its average maximum range? Overall I like the product but I would not pay more than $250 for something like this. Like others have said if you can figure out a way to utilize an APP on my phone I think it would not only bring your price point down but also make it much more manageable in the field.
I keep reading the first post and for the life of me cannot figure out what this thing is supposed to do....
Shoot deer, GPS tracker hooked on arrow attaches to deer, find deer via GPS. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Interesting idea. Not for me. I think you really can't put a price on good shot placement and tracking skills. Just my opinion.
