So from what I can track down...there aren't any? My son and I will have some, but it kind of amazes me with all the rules up here that this isn't one of them.

It used to be 50 inches of orange I believe.

No requirement. And never has been one. Surprising in a nanny state like NY. Honestly it's refreshing

NY has never had an orange requirement.

NY is so bad you aren't required to wear your tag on your back in northern zone.

Growing up in the state many years ago, though not a requirement, the density of hunters in the southern tier was incentive enough for us to wear orange AND always make sure we had a tree at our backs.

I just find it amazing. With all of the silly gun and hunting rules, something sensible like making yourself seen isn't one. Guess I'll count my blessings.

Well dang. Gotta mark this on the calendar. I was wrong. Maybe I just felt it was completely necessary with the amount of idiots I saw rushing through Wally World and gander buying ammo for deer hunting. Or the amount of rounds being fired opening morning.

The only time I wear it is if I'm on public land and IF, big if, I hunt gun season.

No requirement but I have an orange/camo vest I wear during gun, usually take it off when I'm in the stand because, well, deer don't climb trees so I would assume my friends wouldn't shoot at me.

Wear a orange vest and hat while I'm moving to and from my stand. When I get there vest gets hung on back of my tree and hat in pocket. I hunt private property also but I've seen knuckleheads on there while in my stand. As stated above that's just during gun season

You want some entertainment? Or at least a super scare? Go to ****s sporting goods, cabelas, or any sporting goods store the weekend before deer season starts. You will see all sorts of people buying guns and gear and clothes and it's insane!!

I never stop preparing or planning or scouting. These "weekend warriors" are amazing!!

I've made the mistake of going to gander mountain the week gun season starts. It's just absolutely crazy. The weekend warriors destroy New York hunting.

Last time I gun hunted was to get some kids started in it. So I was last minute going to get some rounds for my 30-06, because they went through a box and a half practicing. 165gr Rem boat tails cost me over $50 dollars because of the weekend warriors emptying all the shelves everywhere. Went to 3 diff stores trying to find some and that was the last box in Middletown. If it weren't for the boys hunting I never would've paid that much.
    Made me sick.

That's why I use .308. All the gun hunters want the biggest baddest rounds like 30-06 or 7mm around here. The longest shot you will probably ever make in my area is 50 yards. We don't have big open areas. 308 is always in stock.

I hunt as much now as possible with the bow but hunt gun because my brother only hunts gun and I enjoy going with him. It really is a crazy season in NY when gun opens.

As a born and raised NY guy I can attest to one thing... There is almost as many dumb a$$ weekend warriors( or Walmart hunters) up here as there is Democrats in the city.... Public land is a very very scary thing to risk against not hunting at all. I've seen countless first fights and movent shooters( no , not exaggerating.) Now that I have property i try to help as many ppl as I can so that friends don't have to take their lives in their hands..... Before and after rut that is

I sat in a diner eating breakfast, listening to 2 inbreds in a group, brag about it being a slow morning. So they shot at some brush that moved because they were sure it was a deer.
