Turkeys look like they are not leaving this time. I have lived at my place 23 years the first 20 years we never saw them. Over the last 3 they have come and gone get a few pictures on camera but for the most part we did not have resident birds. Well there is a flock of 15 young birds and 4 adults, the damn things come in the yard every morning and drive the dogs crazy. I do not like turkeys I do not want them around I do not want to see them from the stand. I may start hosting youth hunts next spring, if that does not work I may be even willing to host a cidiots hunt.
Good lord shame on yer mouth. You just send me all them turkey breasts.. I'll take the squirrels too we love eatin em. and UGLY?!?!? WTH
I could send you a freezer full of squirrels I have a dozen in the front yard at any given time, between squirrels and turkeys the dogs are are either going to have a heart attack or die from blunt force injuries. I get in the shower and halfway thru they start barking like the UPS guy is here or somebody is breaking in.
I have access to no birds so I would be happy to drive up in the spring and help eradicate them for you!
Do you know how much prime turkey land you would drive thru to get to my place? Plus it is Minnesota the genetics are bad and hunters have a if it has a beard it is down, no big beards or spurs here.
So walking up to feed the horses this morning and the flock was up by the barn, had to laugh watching the wife's little nipper think she was going to run down a full grown turkey she was half way barking and growling when she realized that if she got all the way there that she would have to deal with something 3 times her size. My mini hunting dogs actually listened when I told them to leave it. I did learn that I can get a fall either sex turkey tag, now trying to decide if I should shoot a hen to curb the population, or a young one in hopes I can make something edible out of it.
Not bitter at all, I have a squirrel population problem, the turkeys are just an annoyance. I see them in the morning I hunt afternoons if the turkeys agree to keep that schedule we can coexist.
Not what I was expecting..thought for sure you were finally admitting the obvious...that the Vikings are ready to take over the NFC north for the foreseeable future
I have stood up in my stand and waved at them to shoo them off and they just keep scratching around. People feed them and they get used to being around humans, then they just get to be a nuisance. I had two flocks of more than twenty birds come in front of my blind every morning last year, and I didn't know if it was turkeys or deer coming. I don't even think it would be any fun to hunt them, they're so tame.
Now the damn sandhills are in the front yard they are not staying down by the pond, If they come on the patio and start eyeballing the koi I am going to shoot them. I have heard them called sky sirloin.
