I don't think that I would pass on him if given the choice.

This is the first year I am not running cameras. I just don't have time to do all the scouting this year. I am putting all of my eggs in the Kansas trip.

Same here. I want to pass on him, but he would be pretty darn tempting in person.

I'm not picky. I don't make a hit list or anything like that. I don't own the property that I hunt so I can't till up food plots either. In fact, I really don't go on the property until hunting season starts to get close.

I guess you could say that I hunt it like it's public land. I look for sign, set up in what I hope is a good spot and take whatever comes along.

At least I can leave my blind/stands out and don't have to take them with me when I leave.

I probably shouldn't be as picky as I am. I have big bucks in my area, but they just pass through the small lots that I hunt. I'm not holding out for a giant...just want bigger than my last buck.

24 hours with no posts to our thread? C'mon, guys, we can do better than that! :)

Exactly 7 days from right now, I hope to be posting live from the stand.

Spent the week in Rainelle, WV and it seems that Verizon thinks it's in a different world. It roams?? Oh the day is getting closer, can't wait to get home and check cameras!

I hope to get a couple stands and another cam up this weekend. This is the latest I've ever put stands up...slacker!

Do you guys have ground blind experience? How early would you set up the blind? The plan was 2 weeks before season...

Two weeks should be good. Longer is better but the deer I shot last year was from a blind that had only been up for a couple days.

Unless your camera is somewhere where you will not impact the deer, I would let it sit. The only time I ever check cams is when I'm in the area. The less scent you leave behind, the less presence you have in the area the better your chances will be in the long run.

    That's just my opinion tho..

Speaking of Trail cams, I was out yesterday getting stands set, and checked a trail cam that was near. Sinclair is back and he's looking good....

    Sinclair looks like a beast!

I was out today, put up two more cams where I seen some giants at the other evening, jumped up all kinds of potential bucks

Then I got pissed after I noticed this...like really? There is a dirt road 5 yards to the left of this...[IMG]

What are we looking at? I can't see what is upsetting. I'm on my phone is probably why.

So those tracks aren't supposed to be there? That would be upsetting. I first assumed it was an access road for irrigation or other farm work.

No, there is an access road 5 yards to the left, it is a little rough....drove right through the beans but now I look at it a little more I think maybe that's from the farm equipment...the road is probably to rough for equipment to go through. Plenty of beans and corn around so shouldn't affect my hunting lol

It looks like we could be a sleeper of a team. We have a lot of Midwest folks, and you guys seem to have some pretty good hunting spots. I am on vacation this week, doing family things until next Friday, then heading up to my buddies place up north who has been running a bait site for us. I shot a bear 2 years ago up there when I was running the bait site. really looking forward to it, going to bring my Polaris Rzr to do some riding, bring my new AR to fire for the first time and some fishing poles as his place is right on a beautiful lake with smallies and lake trout.
