Probably will in a couple of states but that is OK with the amount of time I will have in them. Really targeting the bow only area that I hunt in WV for whitetail. To add to the busy schedule the company I work for just changed ownership so all of us that work there were uncertain of our job status but I was asked to stay and it has been crazy getting things changed over and operating under new ownership. Thankfully my new boss loves hunting and their operations in KY is home to one of the larger elk herds which he has hunted on extensively. A couple of years ago the HR manager killed the, at that time, state record bow kill that grossed in the high 370's. It would be awesome to get to hunt something like that close to home.

Anyone taking big chunks of time off work to hunt? I'm pretty lucky in the hours I work. I work as a EMT on ambulance so I work 24 hours on then off for 48. (Lots of afternoon hunts for me)Then if I trade work days I get up to five days off. So I just got done figuring out the first set of days off. I'll have 8 days off mid Oct. with possibly 3 more if the other trade goes through. The first half of that will be deer hunting then the other I'm heading to MI to hunt some ducks.

Next I'm going to figure out the days I'm taking off for when the rut starts kicking in. I love my schedule  :tu:

I should be able to hunt every day of the week each week except on Sundays because I'm a minister and I've been told we only work on Sundays! In all seriousness though, unless something comes up which always can with ministry I should have the opportunity to hunt a number of evenings come early season and then take a trip to Ohio and hunt the family farm in November with the possibility of going up to Wisconsin and visiting some friends and do some more hunting. We will just have to wait and see. In other news, I got a new buck on camera.

I'm lucky In the fact that I own my own business and hunt 25min from the house so I can pretty much hunt whenever. Usually hunt everyday starting first week of nov. through rifle opener on the 14th.

Just picked up an accepted offer to buy this 5 acres to build a house on next year. Should be able to hunt it though this fall. No idea how the hunting will be but there are definitely a lot of deer around.

You might have some deer in there. Looks a little open but I think the best bet would be when deer funnel out of the field or walking the edge.

Right now it's all tall grass which will help. The funnel on the west side adjacent to the bigger chunk of woods should be the best spot. Next year I'd like to plant a good plot there.

Oct. 1 in WV, but KY starts early, the first weekend of September. One of the few places where you can hunt velvet whitetail bucks. Too hot then and I have never been able to get into it mentally that early. I usually get started around the middle of October.

Im sure all of you are aware of the rules and scoring but I going to post the crucial ones here again. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

1.Each participant is allowed to enter ONE antlered deer as their “Buck Score”. This must be the FIRST antlered deer that you harvest during the season.

1A. Score will be based on GROSS total score using the P&Y scoring system. All measurements must be listed at time when score is posted. If anyone has any problems with scoring, please ask for help first.

2.All entries must be accompanied by a minimum of TWO (2) photos of the hunter with the deer and your archery equipment in the picture. This is a big one people miss. Needs to be you and the bow.

    3. Along with your photo (or video) you must post the date and time in which the deer was shot

There are more and if you haven't gone over everything here is the link. http://forums.bowhunting.com/2016-b...*official-rules-contest-information***-80724/
