Billy Pulsifer checking in!! Good for 100 points every year but hoping to improve that dramatically this season I gained a new property last season that I saw a massive buck on that I'm hoping to close the deal with this fall. First card pull coming Friday or Saturday!

Great seeing a few folks checking in. The past two years I have been chasing a few very big bucks, which caused me to pass on some smaller 6 and 8 pointers. I do have doe tag for one area which I will be trying to fill from the first hunt. Looking forward to a really solid season in the Northeast PA big woods.

Camo - Is this the first year in the contest? Where do you mainly hunt?

M3shadle - I'm excited as well. Will start in October around my parts.

Billy - I agree....bit quite to start the thread. It is vacation season for most of the east coast so, maybe that has a bit to do with it. Fingers crossed on the card pull. Do you hunt public or private land up there?

I hunt a combination. 90% of my hunting is done on public land that's archery only. It heats up in there in e the first round is touched off. They seem to come right in and hold tight all year. The opposite happens on my private land. We typically get surrounded during gun season and they hunt 360 around my property. During archery we seldom see a single person up there (Atleast until crossbow season)

I hope everyone else isn't like me who usually needs some liquid courage to open up a little!
I'll chalk it up to quiet confidence right now

A little history on me. My name is Matt and I'm 31. I've got a few things going for me as far as deer hunting goes.
    1. I live in Wisconsin
    2. I have no kids... yet

I do have a pretty demanding job, but save up all my vacation for bow season.

This is my 5 year in contest, and I've scored roughly 395 points in the past 4 years, and two of those years were big fat zeros. I guess that would be considered "hit or miss"

Hoping to get back on track this year and help the team out.

I hunt in central Indiana. I am new to the contest and will try my best to gain us some points. This is the first year having a camera going and I have some nice young bucks but nothing impressive yet.
My wife and I are having our first baby due in late December so I am hoping for early success. I will be taking a week during the early rut off and usually do all day sits for most of the week.
Good luck this season. Looking forward to seeing some of your pics from stand and with that trophy!

I had my first Indiana hunt last season near Terre Haute. Came back empty handed but I used to live in Columbus IN, beautiful area#

Pick00l is it true that PA holds opening day firearms as an almost official holiday? If so how awesome is that!

    Update from NY

So unless my trail cams reveal a solid pattern on a solid buck I'll be heading to the Adirondack Mountains September 28th through October 2nd in a back country style hunt for black bear. If a good buck or doe presents itself I'll capatalize but my priority will be bear! First card pull coming Friday or sunday!

Oh yeah. Most public and private schools still have off on Monday after Thanksgiving. That is the official start of firearms buck season. I call it Massacre Monday...because of all the shooting you hear.

I really hope some of the other folks start checking in. Maybe give it till Monday and shoot them a PM? Some are actively logging in and some have not logged in since early August.

I have no graphics capabilities to create an avatar. How about you guys?

I'm from Ohio, and shouldn't have an issue getting us a few points this season!

Not the best pic however, this was the last pull I did. You can see the spread real nice! The area I hunt usually has a few big ones roaming, just a matter of connecting.
