    Will say this upfront... I'm terrible with coming up with names and the logo haha. Generally have to put our hunting noggins together for those.

    Have you read the rules? Biggest newb blunder is not taking 2 different pix and then of course, scoring a buck properly. We can help with scoring but I'm not very good with photoshop to fake a second & different pic.

    Noticed a lot of that last year while stalking the contest.

    As far as team name goes...the wheels are spinning...but so far not much sticking.

    Yep September 17th for me too. Just checked plots and cameras yesterday and defiantly got more excited after checking them! Couldn't agree more with the name!

    I'm Sept. 17th as well.

    I'll be scouting some public land this weekend - Not sure if I'll be able to get to the place I want because of all the rain. I'll let you guys know what I find! So much to do before the season starts.

    Was out last weekend checking things out and noticed that there are nearly no apples in our orchard this year. Should help make the food plot stands all the better...I hope.

    Ain't that the truth!
    I read a great article from 'Wired To Hunt' this morning. It was about the benefits of physically writing out a "to do" list for pre-season preparation, and how it helps with organization and the timely completion of all those little tasks we all deal with.
    Needless to say, I'm working on my list as we speak.

    That's awesome. I read that this morning too - Haven't quite got to my list yet!

    I'll get some pictures of the land I'm hunting/scouting this weekend and post em up. Maybe you guys have some areas I can focus on.

    This is the 53 acres I hunt. As you can tell the vast majority of it is corn/beans. I focus almost all of my attention on the southeast corner. I have a mineral site on the north end where the arrow is. I've got 2 pictures of bucks there... All summer. I've hunted here 3 years and have always had bucks at the site all summer long, not sure what changed this year. I have very limited areas to hunt here. I do have one stand on the north side of the creek that I usually hunt during the rut. I haven't stepped foot on the north end of the property since early this spring so I'm hoping they are using it as a travel route.

    Red = My property
    Green = Beans
    Yellow = Corn

    This is a section of the public land, which is about a half mile to the north of our property. This picture doesn't do it justice. It would be best if you view from Google Maps/Earth and zoom in (search Benlacs State Wildlife Management Area, Foley, MN). The red circle is what we scouted a bit last year. The line through the woods is where a gas line was put in but it is mostly grown over now. I want to focus on the east side of the WMA and get into the swamp, when you zoom in you can really see their travel routes. Other than looking at the map and seeing their routes, I have no idea where to start. I think I just need to get some boots on the ground. If anyone has any suggestions just let me know!

    Good stuff, Jake! On the farm, I'd have stands for every wind direction. I'd pay particular attention to those tree rows on you east & west borders. Look for scrapes, rubs (soon to come!) and especially "cut-throughs". Where they meet larger blocks of woods, you'll usually find staging areas. Needless to say, hunt the acorns if you got 'em (especially from whits oaks).
    On that WMA, I'd throw on some rubber boots or waders and be all over that swamp! When you have time, research "swamp bucks" or "marsh bucks", especially articles written by Dan Infalt.
