One month before opening day and my Bowtech rpm360s limb cracked/de-laminated Second set of limbs this bow has had and the timing could not be worse. Hoping my local archery shop can get me back up and running soon. There are much worse things that could happen to me, so I can't be too bummed. Might be time to switch to a matthews..
Oh my goodness......that is the FIRST time I have heard of Bowtech limb failures!!! 8^0 Sorry for your trouble this close to season, but this has been a recurrent theme with Bowtech since around 2007.....and the reason I steer very clear of the brand. I am neither a "hater" or a "fanboy", but Bowtech has developed a negative reputation with these limb issues that continue into different lines of their bows. Even with new limbs, I doubt that I could shoot a bow that has had TWO limb failures with confidence.
I had the same problem with my 360 last year a week before season. My shop and bow tech stepped up and they gave me a whole new bow. It was my 2nd set of limbs withing a month. Good luck to you. I haven't had any issues since then.
I'd replace the limbs and sell it. I shoot a Hoyt Charger now and haven't had any issues but I've been looking at Elite's lineup for my next bow. You'll probably have to retune everything anyway. I'd look on the Archery Talk classifieds for a used Elite to save some cash. They have a lifetime transferable warranty.
Unfortunately this happened to another member on here last year with this Boss or Prodigy. I love my BTX and keeping my fingers crossed it holds up. Good luck and hopefully your shop and Bowtech takes care of you!
It's weird to me, I have shot all of Bowtech's flagship bows since they released the Experience and have been lucky enough to not have the experience of my limbs delaminating like that.
I've owned about 50 of them to date since about 2002. One had a very small splinter the size of a toothpick. I think that was an 09' model Diamond Marquis. I often wonder if these issues are caused by how the bows are being pressed. I've personally seen shops press these bows with the press fingers below the pillow block assembly. They need to be pressed with the fingers on top of the pillow block assembly and all dealers are trained to do this. To the original poster, first step is to connect with your local dealer. I had the same thing happen to my Destroyer a couple years ago. They shipped out 2 new limbs to the shop and had my bow back in a week. But just like Sota up top, I just ordered a set of Barnsdale limbs to hopefully fix it for good. But I think with that bow there is no other option other than factory replacement limbs. Bowtech was fast to fix and I had great service with them. I would buy from them again!
You never owned one long enough for anything to go wrong with it!! lol What does that work out to 3.6 bows a year! lol I have owned a lot of bows in My 43 years of shooting them, but I don't think I have owned that many in a short span of 14 years are altogether for that matter.
On my 3rd Bowtech had tomkat, admiral and now Btx no issues so far. Man I hate seeing that first pic now I'm just waiting for something to go wrong
I've read of at least 2 BTX that have had limb failures and seen a bunch of them go up for sale because of it. The suggestion that the limb failure issue is due to being pressed incorrectly still is not a justification because inept shops and private bow press owners are likely pressing every brand of bow incorrectly as well.....and you don't hear of a host of Hoyt, Elite, Mathews, Prime, Obsession, PSE, etc limbs suddenly coming apart.......???
