Last year I tested out numerous spray scent blocks, as well as cover ups. In my opinion I have had the best luck with Dead Down Wind.. What are some of your experiences with any other scent blocks? Have you used Dead Down Wind? Thoughts?
I wouldn't bank on scent sprays killing your scent. Look into Scent Crusher products. They will take the odor out of your clothes completely.
I use bags of Baking Soda. I sprinkle it on my clothes after each hunt and also during the off season my clothes are sitting in it. I find that when I put my clothes on the Baking Soda then covers me helping to mask my scent. I swear by it. Spraying your clothes works to a certain point but nothing like Baking Soda does. I don't wash my clothes but a couple times a season, most of the time it is because I get blood on them from a kill. You can buy 10 lb bags at Sam's Club and that will last a season.
I have been using DDW for over 3 years now and it works well for me. Their Scent-Free deodorant is the BEST on the market. They also have a Scent-Free oil you can use on you gear and stands that works really well.. I also use Scent Crusher too for my truck and clothes and it makes a world of difference. I hunt the wind too.
I don't think there is a silver bullet and we should always hunt the right wind, but l'm going to try smoking my clothes this year and see how it goes. Given the ammount of leaf piles and fire wood that gets burned here it may work.
Dang! I've never heard of baking soda but hell I'll try anything once especially if it saves me that much money
