Because I have access to 200 acres on the Yellowstone river this year, and the guy who farms it is planting alfalfa towards the end of August. Looks like his sweet corn is getting hit pretty hard right now too.

T minus 2 months til buck season opens. I'm going to try to do my best to hunt the food sources better in the early season. White oaks should be good this year.

Holt....kill a big MD buck man.

Because I'll be hunting in Ohio the second week of Nov!! Other than 5 hunts in Alberta (Edmonton Bow Zone), this will only be the second time I've hunted out of state. I am pumped!!!!

I've killed some big deer, but I honestly don't have a lot of confidence in the upcoming season. My spot that was becoming the best honeyhole I've ever had, has been destroyed by new neighbors. Might even be an outfitter, don't know yet.
My other spot, the landowner has decided that the last week of October would be a good time to get some big equipment in there and work on a new road, LOL.
I'm not gonna sweat it though. If I can just kill some deer and have my time in the woods, I'm happy.
I'd really like to see guys like Brett, Tony and Sharpeye kill the monsters this year!

Persistence. It's been 5 years since I started hunting of any kind. I'm still buckless. Last year I got out a handful of times because of a new job,but this year I'm settled in and going to hunt hard. New properties to check out. Hoping I can finally put an end to this buckless streak.

Cause I picked up a really good spotlight ha. (Just a joke peole)

Honestly I'm just hoping that the trend just keeps goin that I've had past couple years. Every year seem to be getting closer and closer to taking a really good buck during bow season so I'm hoping this is the year. Had some good sightings last year just never had good shot opportunity. Farm I hunt should also have alot of good late winter food so should hold deer a little longer than usual.

I will have the least amount time to hunt and the fewest number of mature deer to hunt that I've had in probably a decade. For those two reasons I'll kill the biggest deer of my life. Isn't that how it always happens?

Because I'll be hunting with my son where JZ killed his mule deer last year; and hunting Kansas, Oklahoma and Wyoming in November.

Because I have put more effort into everything overall this year, I'm moving treestands this weekend to where I know the deer are form observing them while in stand last year. And I already have a vacation planned from oct 28- nov 6 where I will be doing nothing but hunting both private and public land.
