We were finally able to get to the plot yesterday. I've either been working due to storms or not able to get to the plot due to rain. I mowed this one week ago. Should've mowed again today before disking but time was an issue. I had worked all night so this was the best time to get to it. I did have to disc it in several different directions but the ground had just enough moisture in it to work really well. We decided to broadcast instead of drilling the beans this time. We used very short season beans since we planted on July 8th. We'll see how it goes. With as warm as the ground is and the available moisture we should see sprouts next weekend. We'll see what happens. The area is an acre. It is too much for one picture. I'm standing in the SW corner. Shadow is blocking part of it. It took us 4 hours to get everything disked, planted, and fertilized. The picture of where we had mowed was taken from the SE corner of the plot.
Which way do the deer come into the field? Do I set my blind up under that big tree or do you have me shooting out of a different tree fp?
Honestly, they will come from all directions. It is least likely for them to come from the south. They would have to come from across the road and from behind the housed over there. The mainly will come from a northern direction. I'll have a stand for ya, if height don't bother you..........................
Took one of my worst falls from a 2 foot step ladder. I forgot that I wasn't on a taller ladder and leaned into it to catch my balance holding a several thousand dollar chandelier! Right down onto a tile floor. Didn't break anything on the light but my elbows, knees and forearms had bruises that lasted for over a month!
Of course the fall from the 32' ladder also cost me a knee surgery twenty years ago and the time that the 24' ladder kicked out on me and I crushed L-4, well unfortunately, "ladder rides" as we refer to them, are a part of the line of work I'm in. For some reason, when workman's compensation rates are calculated, roofers, loggers and painters are all in the most expensive category.
One thing that my years as a house painter have taught me.................... "there is a lot more gravity up there, than there is down here!!!!!"
